Yes, same results in Pure Music.
In other words, the Equalizer doesn't work since I downloaded FW 1.91
EQ I don't like it, after using it the sound becomes plastic!

I pulled the SD card out and re-inserted it after reading a few posts back about the problem with storage/USB DAC not working--although I think mine was working O.K. before that.
I pulled it out when the unit was turned off. Should I / may I pull it out and re-insert it when X7 is turned on?

But don't you agree that the Equalizer should work on any FiiO X7--you know, $750.00 and all that...

Then you may not have been using it properly, or it was a very poor equalizer. A properly implemented and used EQ should not do that to the sound. Something was not right.

Yes absolutely. Also, when removing your SD card, you should have the device turned on and unmount through the storage settings.

Doesn't do that on mine - EQ works exactly as it is supposed to. Maybe reflash 1.91 and if that doesn't work, contact FiiO directly.
Oh and the comment from the other guy about it sounding plastic after EQ - no, sorry. I'd suggest learning how to EQ properly, and maybe take smaller more subtle steps. It also helps to know what you're EQing and why. For frequency bands, google interactive frequency chart - it is very helpful.

I did. This is the recent update for one thing? Forgot what for, but it was something I didn't use. Just making sure I'm not missing anything.
