Need to meet Gavin for a demo.

Hurry hurry!

Lol... But seriously do hurry!!! Simply amazing sound comes from these phones. I try to find any excuse in the world to listen. I am in the process of packing, I'm moving. I had some empty boxes in my car from work, I had to bring them in this morning. It's literally all of a 2 minute walk back and forth, which I spent wishing I had my damn headphones in!!

They are better than the G2 in every possible way, bass being the exception. Keep in mind though, I listen to the G2 with the ports fully open. The bass is about the same with port fully open, which is a lot. It's definitely a little tighter on the Ref1,a bit more controlled. There is probably slightly more bass on the G2 with the open port, but it is hard to say. Every other aspect the Ref1 sounds better to me. Soundstage, details, etc. The being said, there is a big price difference between the two. I'm quite shocked at how well the G2 competes considering the price difference. I'm also fairly new to this so my ears may not notice all of the differences... I'd dare to say that others with more experience would hear a bigger difference

Whatttt, G2 fully open? Hell naw, they sound awful that way. I'm surprised you actually like the sound coming from them with the bass port fully open! Mid bass bloom was insane.

Lol... like I said they weren't perfect. The bass on the Ref1 is different, it's there, almost the same volume wise, but cleaner and tighter, better quality.

He lives in the home of BASS, most who live there are BASS maniacs, me too!

I knew you'd understand!!

I still have to get 100 hours in on my 1p2's - work and family is such a drag.... But reading this thread makes me long for the Ref1 - I hate to let anything go - but I imagine I would sell the 1p2 before jumping in on the Ref1.

A question... how long after you order, does it take before you can get your hands on a pair of Ref1? Is Musicacoustics the place to buy? Or direct from Tralucent?

This has nothing to do with earphones but I do dislike your profile pic. Noe about being afraid it just looks weird to know a guy put all that make up with the intention to scare or just look that way.

It is a character from the film "The Exorcist"

Not someone who decided one day to look odd..

Sorry that it has that effect.

Yea! Still one of the scariest movies, infact Tubular Bells might sound awesome through the ref 1's
smily_headphones1.gif

Still one of the best structured/filmed horror films of all time. The hospital scenes with Reagan pack as much terror as any of the "supernatural" scenes.

...but back to our regularly scheduled programming....
