Pixie Dust is just placebo.  There's no scientific proof that it makes any more difference than regular old Snake Oil.  I've personally done ABX testing and heard no difference.

Unicorn is the real deal, people!  Did I mention it comes with extra plankton?

Now your just bragging, where did you get the plankton?

Yeah, duuuude you gotta hear it. It's like, huuuuge!
Can't believe how much ?#!@ I was missing out on!

I can neither confirm nor deny that I sold my body to a whale (for consumption at the time of my natural demise) for a lifetime supply of plankton.  Certainly if I had, I'd have been sure to make sure that my demise had to be natural.  Otherwise the whale would get my body for basically NO plankton, which is, frankly, a pretty bad deal.

Also, I'm just going to add that it's REALLY hard to get plankton into paracord.  That's one of the reasons cables like this are so expensive.  Unicorn meat is child's play compared to plankton.

You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to take advantage of a whale. I wouldn't recommend swimming at the shore, stick to cement ponds.

I dunno, a lifetime supply of plankton for me is like two gulps for him and in return he gets my bravery and knowledge.  I think it's a win/win!

If he claimed your body right away, your lifetime supply wouldn't be all that long. Read the fine print in that contract.

Psh, he won't get me that easily.  In theory.  Assuming I had that kind of agreement.  Which I'm not saying I do... or don't.

Is it 5:30 yet??

What happens at 5:30? Do you turn into a pumpkin, whale chow or even better, headphones.

I can go home from work and start my day.  Looking forward to finishing my cable tonight so I can hear the HE-560 in glorious, unicorn-powered balanced mode.  The transient femto PRAT is going to be off the hizzy thanks to the dilithium crystal core in the cable!

And there will be a good chance I'll stop subjecting you to my "bored at work" posts.

Not Plankton, or Sponge Bob for that matter, but just got a CEntrance HI-Fi M8, listening to some jazz through it and the 560 right now. Don't know how it stacks up to the higher priced (and powered) spread, but it's playing Marty Ehrlich Large Ensemble "A Trumpet in the Morning" really nicely. Has a balanced output, one of these days, go for that (when the tooth fairy comes and replenishes my bank account...)

Trying to decide if I like it better than my Geek Out Special Edition, or vice versa (it may be vice versa, though the CEntrance is certainly more flexible...)
(it's pretty close...)

Just make sure that you don't eject the magnetic core of your listening device. It's not yet pumpkin time in Vegas, so remain calm and plug in some decent IEMs while strapped to an oar in the galley.

I've finished the teak cups for my HE-560 a few days ago and I wanted to share some pictures of them with you. I'm very proud of my work and I think they look spectacular! I've also uploaded some pictures of the process, please let me know if you have any questions. Oh and I didn't mess up the mounting of the baffle, my pads are just not 100% symmetrical and that's why the seams are off.

The sound did change a little, highs seem a little more airy or transparent and the lows a bit more lush.

Also the peaks and dips in the frequency response seem to have shifted a little bit based on measurements. I still really want to get some new stock pads or focus-a pads since jerg's mods made the stock pads sound worse for my preference. What also surprised me is that I don't have my pads sealed to the cups right now and the bass response is the same as when I had them stuck to the baffle. This could mean two things with the first being that I measured the stock HE-560 wrong or second, Jerg's pad mods are responsible for the increase in bass response. Anyhow, here's a graph showing the differences between stock, Jerg v1.0 modded with seal and Jerg V1.0 modded pads with wooden cups and no seal.
