Meh, considering reports of the DN1K's cable stiffening over time, Dunu could do with a removable option just based on that. Also, it doesn't matter how you look after them, ish happens. Whether it be pockets or car doors or just degrading cables. Actually, on a tangent, I came across an eBay listing recently with headphones which we're being sold as in perfect working order, but there was a note that the earpads had been chewed on by the seller's daughter. Found that kinda amusing, but that's life for you. Point is that ish happening with your $300 IEMs and not being able to replace the cable is just silly. IMHO.

If you have the chops to open the IEMs and do the soldering, yes. I certainly don't have the dexterity for such tiny components - my shaking hands would just land up melting everything. Or you might have a local service that can do as such for a not-insignificant fee. Gotta say we're pretty thin on those kinds of services here, though. Just making the things with removable cables from the start would make it a non-issue. Honestly, with seeing removable cables being offered on sub-$100 IEMs (hell, the Moxpad X3s even offer them at under $50), it strikes me as a bit pigheaded when manufacturers don't offer the option on higher-end IEMs.

Yeah, it can be a real pain.

Personally, my policy for IEMs north of $200 to either buy ones with removable cables, or factor an extended warranty into the purchase price.

+1. especially for existing standard plugs.

True »»» on the removable cable part. Even its easy for them to assemble as well while shelling in the prod, against conventional soldering. Mutual advantage for mfr and consumer,as warranty claims can be minimized due to cable issues.....imho.

:sleepy:...u guys make me laugh

2 things: why do you use so many smileys mochill? It's really weird.

And agreed, even though I just bought the T-Peos H-300, i'd definitely get the Dn-2500 with removable cables ^-^

It appears I've definitely started something ahah. I think removable cables on headphones aren't as big of a deal but IEMs are made to be portable, snagging your cable shouldn't cost you $320
