Is there such a beast?   They are unlistenable with a CLAS -R/Conti V3 setup, with the highs being painfully shrill.   They get a lot of love, and I am trying to find a setup that lets me figure out their potential.

TIA.

Anyone? Bueller?

To summarize - i am looking for a portable setup that tames the highs of this headphone. TIA.

How about Centrance M8?
I've pair it with Beyer DT90 before, and you can adjust the treble if you find the high is a bit painful

^^ Thanks for that. I'll give them a shot - I've been eyeing it for a while anyway as a portable rig for traveling with my HE500s. Treble controls sound like they'd be perfect.

Thanks for that recommendation.

I think i am just going to sell the unit, to be honest.   I tried the M8, Conti V3, Nationals, Lyr and my custom 2A3 amp - the 2A3 does the best job with it, but if i am using that amp, I'd rather use my HD800s or LCD2s.   At this point, it is easier to accept that they are not voiced for my tastes.

In some cases that is the more honest solution than searching for and amp that changes the basic sound signature of a headphone that does not fit ones taste: a good combination brings out the best in a headphone but won't help if you don't like the overall voicing of the headphone.

Thanks for that - but I've sold the TH600s to a fellow Head-Fier.
