Longtime lurker here who finally took the plunge and signed up.
 
I'm looking to buy some closed monitor headphones for my laptop recording studio.
 
I guess since my primary use will be as monitors I need to be as revealing as possible yet I would still like them to do double duty as a late night phone for films.(with a little EQing if necessary)
 
I was originally thinking around a hundred dollars but have now considered two hundred. (I'm on a budget)
 
Since I would be plugging them into my laptop should I consider splitting the cost with an affordable DAC/AMP like a FiiO or Electric Avenues?
 
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
