No to your first question, haven't tried it. I'm just getting a Fiio X3II, and using that as a DAC amp.. no point in doubling up I say- get my DAP and DAC amp nailed in one hit:)

Ahhh. Cable swapping:) If your referring to the headphone cable, I personally wouldn't bother, unless you want to get rid of the remote, or need a longer cable.

On a $499AUD headphone, I'd really like to know how much of difference it would make, and how much you need to spend to make a big difference.. if the cost outweighs the price of the phone, for say 10% difference I'd seriously question the value of doing it.

My two cents.

P.S. I'm SUPER happy the way they are:)

I notice you have the Alien. Does it have enough power to drive them well? Do they respond better to the X3s more powerful amp?

The Alien sounds amazing with this, in all the usual facets:) can't say what it sounds like just yet out of the X3II In Australia, the X3II lands in about a week, the only reason I'm getting the X3 is for file flexibility and so I can use it as a DAC/Amp - I love the sound that much out of the Alien!

Does anyone use these for commuting plugged into a phone? If so, how does it sound in this environment. Some reviewers have said that the bass gets lost resulting in more harsh treble. Considering getting these for travel and to use for work. I have the Oppo PM3 but find them a little heavy for carrying around. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I commute with mine plugged into my Alien, (and later this week with my X3II) no problems with missing bass.

Hi all. I just got the Beoplay H6 as a alternative to me Beyerdynamic T70P and Creative Aurvana Live 2. I really like them and think the H6 sits between them both. However I do have a problem with the cable. I think B&O should have included an additional 3m cable for the price. This bothers me because I plan on using these headphones both at home and at work (I may buy a second pair). In both cases they be connected to a FiiO E18, Teac UD-501 at home and a Audio Quest Dragonfly at work. In both cases I require a much longer cable.

I have been looking around and I think the B&O 2.5m cable is too expensive, and others ship from overseas and take weeks to arrive. I looked around and saw that there and 3.5mm stereo cables for mobile use. Meaning that the housing around the connector is small and has a "step down" before the pole to make it easier to fit into cellphones with cases. But will such as design fit into H6? Does anyone have any experiences with these types of cables?

These are Mediabridge stereo cables I've been looking at.

I have one of the Mediabridge cables and they do not fit.

I just got these. I've made the mistake of giving too definitive SQ impressions too soon before so I'll wait.

I have experienced the isolation to be very poor despite reviews to the contrary. I don't know if its the fit or the minimal bass, but I have a very time getting a clear, un-interfered-with sound even in a very quiet coffee place unless I turn it up too loud.

Another small complaintis how hard it is to take the cable out of the headphone. I end up disconnecting it at the source instead and dragging the cable around with me. Hopefully I'll get better at that.

Just got a pair today and I've been listening to them for hours with zero comfort issues all the while wearing glasses. That's simply unheard of for me until now.

I was going to decide between these and the oppo pm3(have not heard them yet) but after hearing the h6 at the store i bought them on the spot. I was floored by the sound they produced from my fiio x1.

After reading a few reviews I was expecting them to be very comfortable but dull sounding with weak bass but they're very musical and detailed thank goodness. Everything sounds "right" and "natural". Imaging is excellent. They sound great through my NAD D1050 as well.

Wish they did come with a second audio only cable and a better bag or carrying case perhaps.

You can always just get an extension cable and plug the h6 cable into that. No need to worry about fit issues that way.

Actually I tried that. The sound changed dramatically for the worst. extensions will not work. I ordered a 3m replacement cable from eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/311037727218 Ive bought several before for other headphones, they are nice.

About 12 hours in and the bass is opening up fantastically. Isolation maybe as a consequence (or maybe because I've worked out a better fit) is also improving.  They're also not quite as tight and dry sounding. Soundstage is as advertised - great.

Still hearing a little bit of glare or exaggeration in the upper mids or lower highs. Hopefully that will calm down a bit.

I'm super happy with these.

I'm not listening to the equipment anymore, the best compliment is that I no longer think about any major perceived weaknesses, it sounds so good, so balanced to my ears, I'm now shopping for more music instead, and that is just awesome:)

Just ordered a pair of the red/black dj khaled h6, hopefully these sound the same as the pair i demoed. They were a bit expensive due to the exchange rate but if they sound how i think they sound it should be worth it.

Still having a problem with the sharp high mids or low highs. They get a bit fatiguing for me after a while. I've never had bright headphones so maybe its just an adjustment thing. Anyone else have this issue?
