Lol I'm surprised you have the UM3X which isn't very bass heavy right? Might be getting them mixed up with another IEM though.

There's mixed thoughts on H-200 if one followed the thread closely from day one. I found the mids balanced with the lows and highs (maybe a fraction forward) others found it overly mid-centric and a few thought the mids were recessed. Some how most all agreed it sounded great in the end. I certainly hear a V shape with the Unique Melody personally, it works well with the staging. The mids tend to image well giving a kind of hologram effect just behind the bass and treble. I find the treble a little to forward depending on the track.

I'm not sure if people are talking about the Westone UM3X (What I have) or the Unique Melody 3X when they say this.. haha!

The Westone UM3X was pretty flat-response in my books, with a kick in the mid and sub-bass, like all stage monitoring IEMs should have to be effective during live performances

I think I miss the H-200 a little bit. Just a little. With some EQ, that dynamic driver could really pack a punch. They were pretty comfortable, too.

Ah, I see. Not sure why I was under the impression they were somewhat cold and bass light. Must have misread something.

I would be guessing, honestly, I think they can compete with each other, I remember AX60 was smoother, but I prefer the tonality of the UM which is not as warm in the mid range. We'll need to wait for Lin as it's been a couple of months since I heard AX60 which was only for a week if I remember rightly. I have fond thoughts of that hybrid though, especially the mid range coherency and immersive soundstage and of course lets not forget the bass. I think the king of bass though currently 'pure bass authority' would be ASG-2, that hybrid honestly felt like you were being smacked in the face, a fair amount of mid-bass but the punch and impact was like being hit by Mike Tyson.

@~WhiteLotus, the bass on this UM hybrid you should find completely satisfying. Its something done very right and I can see suiting a wide variety of people.

You mean sicker than sitting at the backseat of SSS Commodore with a pair of 12" fully sick subwoofer mate?

Prices between the 2 are comparable, I honestly think that at the moment it is expensive just because it is exclusive for UK, which has the highest exchange rate currency

, I have no doubt whatsoever, that once released worldwide, I think the price would be closer to the USD $300-$350, I jumped at the poundsterling pricing simply because I can't resist a hybrid, and especially in this case, is made by UM, which instantly, before my brain realised, have my right hand reaching for my credit card after it clicked the 'buy now' button

Thanks for the comparison mate

Haha, sort of but only within the inside of your head. You could feel it in your chest at times and the bass would wack you behind the forehead with each bass hit. If only it was sub-bass focused instead of mid-bass.

Mm you guys are scaring me with sibilance already.
Does look like the same body as mentor.

Does the port have an acoustic filter in it like w merlin?

Testing my eyes at this time of night svyr. I can see something white inside the bass port.
