Did you put the update.img to the root folder of the internal storage of the DX90?

I shot you a PM (as I have no idea what I'm doing)

I have a question as to which formats are supported when using the DX90 in DAC mode

16 / 24 / 32 bit?

44.1 / 48 / 88.2 / 96 / 176.4 / 192 / 352.8 / 384 Khz

Does it support DSD64 / DSD128 in DoP mode?

What is the lip sync delay that has been reported. Most modern video players let you compensate for that within reason.

Cheers

So just got the DX90 and I'm really impressed. Like the amazon reviewer said, it does sound good with these T5p's.

I updated the firmware pretty much straight away and this is how I did it:

1) Downloaded and unzipped the firmware off Ibasso's site (in their downloads section).
Thread starter provided the link in the first post: http://www.ibasso.com/download/DX90FirmwareV2.0.5.zip

2) Followed simple instructions in the Readme file in the firmware folder. The other file is the firmware (called 'update').

For the sake of it I'll paste below what I did:

a) Connected the dx90 to my laptop (windows 7/64bit/usb3.0) via a usb micro cable and loaded the internal storage folder
b) Copied over the file entitled 'Update' into dx90's internal storage folder
c) Disconnected the ibasso from my PC, and put it on charge instead.
d) In the ibasso's menu selected 'Settings---Advanced----System Update' and selected 'OK' to start the firmware update
e) The ibasso takes a minute or two doing stuff and automatically comes back on to the normal home screen
f) Selected 'Settings-----Advanced-----Factory Reset' to reset settings lest conflictions with previous firmware
g) Deleted 'update' file on internal storage

I have been listening to the Hugo and the DX90 all day. Sometimes the Hugo fed by the coax of the DX90 and sometimes just the DX90. There are something I like a little more of the Dx90 and some of the Hugo. The slightly more rawness of the DX90 is so good with some music. I tell you, dacs and players have dome a long ways in just the past couple of years.

Hi, just a few questions for those who used both a DX50+external amp and DX90 before. Is upgrading to the DX90 from the DX50 worth every bit of money that will be spent? Is the increase sound quality significant or not significant enough to warrant 569SGD for an upgrade? I'd like to have some opinions from you guys; I'm currently torn between the urge to upgrade to the DX90 and my wallet's welfare :/

I upgraded from the DX50 to dx90 and have them together for weeks. Comparing headphone out only yes is worth the upgrade if using line out with amp the improvement not as great as headphone out.

U can sell away the DX50 and top up from there. But still go to shop to have a listen to dx90 comparing with yr dx50. Trust yr own ears.

Agree completely. Have for the past week or so been listening to the hrt microstreamer and the audioquest dragonfly II (which I've got now), and they both perform a level at least above the audinst / O2 ODAC

Interested in your further comparison between DX90 and Hugo - it sounds like you don't think the Hugo is night and day superior?

@monkeyboylee The USB driver for using the DX90 as a DAC for you computer is at the moment for 32bits windows system, in few days a Win 64bits version will be available. For updating the firmware you only have to copy it in the internal memory and use the DAP to performe the update. As I understand the batch tool is usefull for downgrading the firmware.

Edit : Wrong page ! I'm thinking it was the last post in the thread, sorry

A message from iBasso.... arrgghh

Hello!

I am wondering if there has been any progress on getting the USB DAC function to work with Apple Mac Computers?

Thank you - I am hoping to not have to buy another amp/dac to listen to music on my computer

Cheers,

Reggie

-----It is more difficult than we thought.  We need more time for the Mac driver.  Sorry about this.

Ok. I need new Cans for the DX90
Sold my ATH-50 recently.
And these are the options

1. Again a new M50X @ $160
2. Sony MDR-1R mk2 @$261
3. Hifiman HE-400 @$300

I dont need a very analytical system just a good option for playing music at home.
