I'm having a real hard time copying music to my micro sd card for some reason. I'm using the sd card adapter I got with the migro sd card (Sandisc 128gb). After a few hours of copying music to the card, and after inserting the card into the DX90 and scanning the library, I have the following situation:
- some of the artists don't appear in the Artists category
- when I browse by folder, some folders appear empty on the DX90, even though there are definitely music files in those folders (same formats as the rest of my music, either flac, of mp3). I recopied, rescanned, but so many of my files don't even show on the DX90.

I tried a different micro sd card and got the same results. It puzzles me because some files show up and play just fine.

Any thoughts?

Tested your SD cards??? No, then that's what you need to do to verify your cards are legit especially if they were not factory sealed SanDisks. If they came from eBay you are S.O.L.

The 128gb was newly purchases factory-sealed Sandisk, and the alternative card is an older Sandisk used for years in another device without issues.

I'll check with that program, thanks

Those kind of issue is usually due to the card being fake.

OK, I just checked my paypal account and the money I payed for the card was already refunded a few days ago - without me asking the seller or anything - with the explanation that this was a "bad batch" that was not meant to be sold. So that explains it - either it was fake or corrupted - and thankfully I didn't have to chase after the seller.

So, does anyone have any tips on where to buy 128gb Sandisk cards that are both original and working? preferably in Australia? I looked at the Sandisk website but they don't sell their products directly.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

I might order from Amazon if I can't find it within Australia

http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-MicroSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B00IIJ6W4S/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406167572&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=sandisc+micro+128

The packaging and card look identical to what I have, so either it was a very good fake (visually) or indeed a "bad batch".

I've always found chain stores to be reliable. They usually charge more than what's online though.
Be careful when buying from amazon.com since sometimes the 3rd party sellers might be bad, and that includes ones fulfilled by amazon. If you buy it directly from amazon then you should have no problems

The 2.1 firmware really nailed it, my DX90 sounds so sweet now, the spacious sound stage is gone, now it is just about right,  the vocal is still bit recessed, I can't wait to compare it to the AK240, hopefully by the end of next week.

I have gotten all my cards on Amazon. No problems ever. I have 2 of the 128gb cards and many of the 64gb.

Will the bass performance improved with burn in? I feel that the bass is somehow lacking in dance tracks.

You may want to check-out / audition the Dunu DN2000. Incredible bass ( tight and punchy ) and glorious mids. Depends on your music source also

What is recommended for playing the dx90 through a receiver?

If you want to use DX90 as a transport to an audio-video receiver ( I am assuming by the way ) and listen to your 6 in 1 speakers, use line out from DX90 and connect to Aux in your receiver. I think you can also connect through the coax but not yet tried it.

It depends on the quality of your receiver and what do you want to play. If the receiver's DAC is better, then DX90 has coaxial S/PDIF. If the receiver's DAC is not so good, then use line out.

In any case, turn the EQ in DX90 off ("On" should be displayed in the left bottom corner of EQ screen). When using line out, set the volume on DX90 to the max.

Being bit perfect, DX90 plays back DTS Audio CD rips via S/PDIF just fine, and you'll have true 5.1 out of your receiver! Avoid to listen it via analog DX90 outputs though!

Again, being bit perfect, DX90 also is able to stream DSD in DoP, having especially prepared files, e.g. in FLAC format. So if your receiver handles DSD in DoP via S/PDIF, then use S/PDIF.
