It feels like the 7th is never going to arrive and they will probably be sold out before I get my order down :/

Hey, relax.
Even if you miss the first batch, it won't take long for the next batch, and you'll be able to see what others think about the performance of the first batch, while you are waiting.
But if you really, really want one of the first batch, then you know when that will be - April 7th.
I'm in the UK, and I think I recall that the DX100 was released in the early hours of the morning (about midday in China time).

I am curious as to why iBasso doesn't already have the dx90 up on their page available for taking reservations. The DX50 showed me that they are all about reservations, as basically every unit was sold by reservation for 15~ batches. What are they looking at doing on the 7th? Opening up for reservations for when they have some to ship, or will they have some to ship on the 7th without yet having the reservations in place? They should go ahead and start on the batch 1 reservations, it will clearly sell out, then start taking batch 2 and 3 and so on. It would put a lot of people at ease, and even let them know ahead of time how many they should even plan to put in a batch. iBasso needs to get with it. Just taking a look at their web page leads to no hint that a DX90 is even on the way, and if it weren't for this thread right here I still wouldn't have any idea the concept even exists. I don't speak Chinese.

I am just being impatient.The thing is that although it's an N=1 thing (jamato), I already believe that the product will be awesome, so I know even if I do read negative reviews, i will probably be turning a blind eye
and if it was good reviews...further hype exacerbation lol..Looking at other DAPs on the market, DX90 seems to fit my budget and SQ needs best..
I am also in the UK, I will probably try and get up earlier before work to place my order.

Ill probably in the 2nd batch of orders as my money doesnt arrive till the 15th sad times lol.

Is there a confirmed release date for the DX90? I'm guessing the SQ should be superior to the AK100 Mk.2, or did I get this completely wrong?

We've had a couple of altered release dates so far, but the current release date is slated as being April 7th, and given that some photos are now emerging (albeit very slowly) of some DX90 prototypes, I am optimistic that April 7th will be adhered to by iBasso.
As for AK100Mk.2 - I don't own one, nor (obviously) a DX90, but I absolutely 100% anticipate the DX90 exceeding the SQ of the AK100Mk.2 or I will consider the DX90 to have rather missed it's target. I am confident the DX90 will sound excellent and I feel I may buy one myself, in due course.
Although I hated the ergonomics of the DX100, I really rated its SQ, so iBasso have already proved to me that they know how to achieve excellent SQ in a DAP.

AK100 II (the lowered output impedance) no comparison, oh yes there is, they both use SD micro cards. :^) I enjoy the 100 but frankly the DX90 is really a step up or two, maybe two.
