I was surprised - i thought it would take 3- 4 minutes. Not joking it was about 8 seconds (all the audio was prepared beforehand for dx50 use though!)
My until is lightning fast compared to the dx50

Didn't enjoy the wait :) but OMG Its rare to be satisfied with something...with anything! especially something like audio which has a million different components that need to come together  :D

I'm very happy with mine out of the box so far.  Hopefully I'll have time soon to compare it head-to-head with the DX50.

Maybe he went blank out of sheer excitement while it was scanning?

Out of the box and if you insert the sdcard before power on DX90 will show the "media" scanning screen for a few seconds. I though the scanning was fast. But when I browsed by DB (Artist/album) it's blank.

I had to pop out and pop the SD card right in and when prompted I select scan. That took a while for my full 64GB uSD card

So we have finally reached an agreement of all ?

Now please jamato8 take over and convince iBasso. Maybe they could produce something in conjunction with ZeroLemon?

If not, it would be kind if the 30$ for a XL-back included a larger silicone case too...

Just read the dimensions, 7.9mm... Nice.
zikarus good find.

I wouldn't mind paying $30 for a back cover to accommodate a bigger battery. If they can make a cover for the 7000mah battery I'll pay even more.

How about a case that is big enough for the largest one to fit plus some internal fillers to compensate for smaller ones?

Finally! 13 days of express shipping later my DX90 arrives! All be it loose with NO bubblewrap or protection around the  box??!

Over all - faultless I love it and am 100% happy with the sound and player....so far :)

Good thing the box is sturdy enough to take the abuse.

For those who are having difficulty with proper scanning with their DX90, perhaps my experience will prove helpful....

I removed the micro SD card from my DX50 where it was playing flawlessly and inserted it into my DX90. (all of my music is on the sd card, none on the internal memory) The option for scanning appeared and I selected "scan". When finished, it first appeared that my music was present but after listening to the shuffle mode for awhile, it was obvious that many of the same tunes and/or artists were being repeated. I then checked in "Albums" and found only a small number of albums and artists showing. Likewise, in "All Music", there was only a small number of files showing of what I knew was actually present. Many of the albums showed "null".

I then, leaving the card in place, accomplished a "wipe and factory reset". This was done by holding both the volume up and power button together, not by selecting from the settings menu. When this procedure was completed, once again the scan option appeared and once again I selected "Scan". This scan took about 4 or 5 minutes. (my 64gb card is nearly full) Following the completion of this scan, all of my music, albums and artists appeared exactly as in my DX50. All of my albums are by folder, one album per folder. I drag and drop from my computer and do not use itunes or any sort of tagging program.

Since then, my DX90 has performed flawlessly.

Lol, that can't be right. Mine scanned the card around the same time as it scanned on DX50. Which makes sense, since the card reader is virtually identical.

Same here takes a while reading a 64 Gb card. I noticed also that for the same card in the DX50 and DX90, it's taking longer on the DX90.
Might be because it has to scan twice for the double dacs. :D lol

Haha thanks, and well its great to be hear 'Bob'

funny you say that - been 'stuck' with my old J3 for the last 2 weeks and felt a huge loss in 'something' that i couldn't put my finger on
Listening to the dx90 i felt some genuine 'lumps in the throat moments' at the extrarodinary expereince of the quality of the audio.

One thing Ive been slowly trying to introduce to the 'audio' world is that its not so much whether one can 'hear' a difference in Hi Rez
files. . . This point is actually not the point AT ALL !

Its far more how the Hi ez files effect you - I had some sublime moments of complete satisfaction and absorbtion whilst listening

When I listen to mp3 my mind remains somewhat scattered and hard to focus BUT at 24/96 and above I am more and more able to
effortlessly melt and absorb into the music.

THIS i feel is the point of Hi Rez music - Those who know what i mean will know what I mean!
After all what bit depth and sample rate do we think actual live music is??

So yes, I have been completely cursed now with High End Audiophile. There is no going back for me. Thank you iBasso for making
such profoundly great DAPs at a resonable price!!

Actually that would work too. If they made different sizes of back covers and cases, they would be making a killing off all of us.

If one could have access to a metal drill could potentially drill a hole big enough to allow the battery to stick out then use a rubber band to keep it in place, this way you could fit any size battery and still maintain the surrounding shape. The silicon case would still be a problem when the battery is larger, maybe if they design a case that would have a back that could easily stretch. I am wondering if it'd be better that they design a special battery backup that matches and fit the DX90 dimension, that would be cool too.

Have had no problem with missing files, but EVERY time I switch on I get the SCAN/BROWSE screen and I close it with the small top-right cross and all is fine. If I do a scan, it is very quick, about a 10th of the time doing a scan via the Menu. But it makes no difference, this screen comes up every time. (Sandisk Ultra 64, FAT 32)
