Anyone receive a set with the black cable yet? Keeping my fingers crossed since I was in the second tier and it seems the water-honed/black cable models were delayed.

I got blue TiN and black cable.

I can probably get some pictures if anyone wants.

I know these are not really my sound signature, but I am getting quite interested in these phones I have to say. They'd compliment my little collection nicely as every phone I have is extremely bassy.

Eke? Help me out here bro!! I think for days when I'm in a relaxed mood, perhaps these might be nice.

I think you'd grow to love them. They have some serious raw bass energy, and they go loud with ease. The overall tuning is just stunning in the truest sense of the word.

I spent some time A/B'ing with my ASG-2.5, and the result was clear. The Rockets have weightier treble...vocals that often make me stop whatever I'm doing, slump my shoulders, close my eyes, and just listen....and bass that is incredibly dynamic. I have yet to hear the Rockets sound dark or even warm, but it still carries over the magic that makes me love the ASG-2.

HURRY UP! I want to hear them!!!! hahaha just kidding. take your time and enjoy. :-) :-)

No worries. I only have a few days left on my section of the tour anyway. I'll be handing them over shortly...and immediately trying to cop a set for myself.

I have roughly 2700 songs (22gb). Most of the files are 256kbps. If i decided to re-download my music in alac/flac, about how much space would i need? I have a macbook air with 128gb's of storage.  I think it's time I do this.

cd quality (16bit/44.1khz) songs have a bit rate of up to 1411kbps.

Edit: if you do that math (1411/256=5.51), (22gb*5.51=121.22gb)

I just had the chance to audition the rockets and the asg2.5 just out of my lg g3. To my ears the Rockets sound better in many ways, and that's not counting my bias from my preferred sound sig. The vocal magic is true to the hype. Lots of detail and clarity in the mid range. Bass is tight, accurate with good speed. Best balance of mid and subbass to me. Treble has v good tonality and realism.

Compared to the rockets the 2.5s sounded slightly veiled and I'm guessing it's because of its heavier bass response. I tested the rockets first so it sounded slightly bloomy/boomy to me with less definition. Vocals on the 2.5 sounded warmer, on the rockets there was greater clarity and I felt there was more detail as well (helps that the vocals were slightly more forward on the rockets). Treble on the 2.5 was more metallic with cymbal crashes and also sounded slightly slower and tonally less accurate to me.
