The MH1 flanges come in four sizes if i am not mistaken. There is small, medium, large and XL.

They literally disappear upon doing so. The tri tab doesn't really do anything for the fit of the rockets nor the removal. It is just there to help the rockets stay put, but they stay put just fine if u get a great seal in ur ears.

So these are definitely better than the Tenore then I guess? I listen to mainly EDM, pop/Korean pop and piano music but getting sick of Tenore's patchy QC. Love the comfort/small size of the Tenore though.
 
Do the Rockets fit the bill as a replacement/upgrade?
 
Also, these haven't made it to retail yet right?

I'd say yes. Although the Tenore is a good match for those genres too. It really depends on how much bass you like. The Rockets have a couple less dB in low bass. 
 
Have you tried the cotton-mod for the Tenore?
 
And no these haven't made it to retail. You can pre-order though Earphone Solutions. No word on an eta yet. I'd recommend making a wtb ad on the forums.

I was trading tips with a guy and told him i wanted the small narrow tips with the thicker space between the hole and the edge and he sent a photo of the mushroom shaped one with the thin space. I was like "no no... the other small ones". he thought I was crazy I bet..
 
There is definitely a difference and I fit

I know, my ignorance is bad and I should feel bad. I seriously don't even look twice at small tips because they rarely ever fit me.

Gnarl, nice shot of the rockets. Can't wait to get my gold/black cable combo. Too bad I'm backer #12xx don't think I'll be seeing them anytime soon. Anyone with that combo please do post pics

Had a brief comparison with the Tenore this morning and was quite surprised by what I heard.

- The Rockets are superior in every aspect of staging: taller, deeper and wider, with significantly better layering. The Tenore was surprisingly smaller and less dimensional, less spacious sounding.
- The Rockets have better treble sparkle and better treble timbre. They just sound more realistic in treble.
- While note thickness and overall bass levels are similar, the Tenore sounds considerably slower: kicks have less impact with a bit too much rumble, and double bass sounds more diffused and less defined due to the Tenore extended decay.
- the Rockets required another tick or two of volume to get as loud as the Tenore when switching back and forth.

Besides perhaps tonality, for me, the Rockets do everything noticeably better. I wish I still had the KC06 because I want to say the Rockets sounds like a cross between it and the Tenore but improving upon both in most aspects.

That sounds like a GR07 with better layering and flatter treble. WTB post here i come!

It's been a long time since I owned the GR07 but I feel pretty confident in saying the Rockets mids are more forward. Vocals will sound more intimate.

Yes, they probably are. I use a vent modded XE800 that sounds pretty mid forward though 

. I was mainly talking about tonality, the GR07 is right in between the KC06 and the Tenores as far as tonality goes imo.

The staging and imaging are top tier in every regard. I've used them with tv shows and they threw out cues with such realism and depth that it had me convinced I was hearing things through the isolation from outside. Even when I paused and rewound to hear it again, it was still difficult to easily say it was from the IEM, similar to those optical illusions where even if your mind knows the trick, it still works.

I'd probably take the Tenore treble tonality if pushed, and it's slightly less potential for sibilance, but other than that, it's a rough showing for the Tenore IMO.

It doesn't really sound like the GR07 though, in general. The GR07 has a very black monitor-esque sound and the rockets have a much more raw live sound. But from recollection of how drums sounded on the GR07, the bass decay properties might be very similar.
