My reaction was the same.  Not that there's anything wrong with it.  I've been listening to it on Spotify the last half-hour or so.  Reminds me a lot of what I hear on SOMA Groove Salad.  Thanks for offering it up, dendrite.

*Cheers, I thought I'd try offering up something a little different and modern. I'm always on the search for that elusive sound that crosses multiple genres.

Hey dendrite, I like it. Some of the guitar stuff reminds me of Scofield, and some of the tracks remind me of Metheny.  Thanks for the share.

I think we need to talk about Brian Blade more.  I can listen to his albums on my 650's just about any given time and know I'm going to enjoy myself for the next 60+ minutes.  Nothing earth shattering, but I love his music.  I really would like to see him live one of these days.

One of the tracks (Beachwood Canyon) from this album was featured on my favorite jazz podcast recently.  If you're into podcasts -- or maybe even if you're not, you might want to check this one out.  Plays some really nice stuff I wasn't previouly aware of:
