Crap... I foolishly thought it was the HD800s for a minute :xf_eek:

I wish!

Tbh, it's the first time I've seen a fully warranteed set under a grand since I started looking a few months ago.

Was awful tough to pull the trigger on that amount. But...my initial impressions are I'm very glad I did.

$923.95 from verizon wireless, new, full warranty! :)
You need an account with Verizon and 47,600 Verizon Points (which you probably have, if you have a verizon account.

I know, I keep bringing this up, but hey, seemed apropos. I'm so close to pulling the tigger. I just need to figure out if I'm capable enough to do the SuperDupont Resonator mod. A friend that lives close by just got an HD800, so I will finally get to listen to it in my home with my own equipment. Alway a plus.

Oh, Verizon Wireless is an authorized Sennheiser dealer, I checked.

Yeah...would've have done that deal when you brought it up if I was Verizon.

FWIW, they're sounding outstanding in their stock configuration but I'm not overly treble sensitive. Unless things change, don't think I'll be doing any mods.

I'm spoiled... By the time I heard the HD800 at RMAF, people had figured out some really good synergy audio chains with it. I really liked it on the flagship ALO audio amp and questyle desktops (the monoblocks or even the "entry-level" one), but I really liked it off of the current-drive amps at Cavalli. I think part of the magic at the Cavalli booth was they had a couple R2R DACs there instead of the more common Delta-Sigma... I've heard great D-S DACs (Chord?), but R2R DACs usually present the treble very detailed but less upfront and with less digital-ness. I'd be happy to sit on the Theta DAC and Cavalli Liquid Carbon I have now with a (balanced) HD800... Wonder if my mom has enough Verizon points? LoL!

Massdrop has an interesting looking black walnut headphone stand.  Looks like a reasonably good deal if you are in the market for something similar (i.e. hard wood).

Edit: They are gone.  Back to $488.  When I ordered mine it said 2 left and there were 2 places selling them (with Prime fulfilled by Amazon) for $399.95.

  Gunmetal is still available. http://www.focuscamera.com/audio-technica-sonicpro-over-ear-high-resolution-audio-headphones-gun-metal-refurbished.html

I'm tempted to buy one even though I sold my pair a few months ago. Great cans, especially for the price.

I ordered a pair of the black and received them today.  The right ear pad had a 1" cut on it so I contacted Focus Camera.  They offered me a $10 refund or return for a full refund.  They send me the RMA and it states shipping is non refundable.  I'm like you send me a defective item and I have to pay return shipping.  Last purchase I make from them.  I contacted Audio Technica to see if they'll send me replacement pads.  If not I'll still keep them because I like what I've heard so far but definitely not buying anything from Focus Camera again.

I would call focus camera and dispute the shipping charge.

I would have before I listened to them but I have no intention of sending them back since they don't have any to replace them now.  This is by far my best $99 ever spent on audio gear.  These things are intoxicating.  Hopefully AT comes through and sends me some replacement pads.  If not I'll try to source some elsewhere.

Got mine as well, no problems. These were an awesome buy

Semi-Rastiman styling with real wood inserts.  Reviews indicate pretty good bass enhanced sound and earcups that are not fully around most peoples ears.   $149 in another color at Amazon with lots of reviews.

MEH was is a reliable daily deal site started by some of the Woot founders. A lot more like Woot than Woot is these days.
