Can someone bring an extra set of stax, standard bias, headphones?
I'd like to borrow them at the meet for a few hours if possible.

My rig will have a SRD-7 but I only own pro-bias headphones these days.

C U all in Long Island.

Marty

edit:  now that I think about it, I'd love to buy a set of SR-3 headphones to use with my SRD-7..........total nostalgia being invoked here, as I had SR-3 in my first dorm system..............[dual 1019, kenwood receiver and SR-3]...........heavenly sound for an 18 year old

Not to lead or spoil too much....  The Sony is very good, even great.  But - evidenced by the fact that RWA and Ric @ EVS are offering mods to the output stage - it can be even greater.

But yes, definitely plan on listening, I'm copying some decent content up this weekend....from 16/44 to DSD.....

OK, I have decided what I am going to bring to the meet. I am going to forego my computer rig this year because I reformatted my laptop recently and neither of my other two computers are very portable. I will be bringing:

Denon DP-790 w/Grado Black
Hafler SE100 phono stage, with copious amounts of modifications (wavoman's, on semi-permanent loan to me)
Head-Direct EF1 with some tubes (you can only use my tubes, sorry, but there will be a couple RCA cleartops which sound the best IMO, and some others)
Grado HF-1's
Senn 600's

I thought about bringing the VPI record cleaner but the noise just wouldn't fly at a headphone meet, so I will hopefully conjure up a suitable dust brush to use by Saturday because I don't own one (I just use the record cleaner every time I play a record). Feel free to bring your own vinyl and play it on my rig. The only problem I've been having with this rig is that I frequently get distortion on loud songs on the inner 1/2 or 1/3 of records for some reason - perhaps Nikongod can assist me in diagnosing this problem. Most of the time it sounds perfect.

As we are less than one week away from the "Main Event" is there any word if Astell & Kern or Drew from Moon Audio will attend?
Sincerely,
Speedracer1

As of now, no they are not attending I never received a response from either of them.

The Eddie Current 2A3 MKII amp is in the house,I am listening to it now with my Hardwired wire world  silver eclipse HE500 and they are sounding mighty good.

This is the amp Eddie current will have on display to listen to,make a note to check it out at the meet.

On a side note if anyone is interested I have a Cardas Clear Light cable available for sale $200 that fits Hifiman HE phones,1/4 inch plug.

I am going to be there as well. My first meet and I hope to open my eyes and ears to some education.

I will bring my new Audeze LCD-X headphones along.

What I am really most looking to hear is the new Chord Hugo and also have the chance to hear a few decent DAP's.

I was going to just buy the X5 but maybe something else will grab me by the wallet and heart simultaneously :)

Yes I would really like to hear a Cord Hugo too!  If my understanding is correct, as per Jude the Hugo has better SQ then the potentially coveted AK 240!  That said, at $2,300 USD without a user interface and its "large" size with respect to traveling daily it may be a trade-off and not something practical for me to consider.
