tested again XL pads and seemed I had put it in a wrong way cause now it's sounding perfectly. I also have a small head so had to tightened headpad (don't remember the english word for but guess you got what I meant)

How did you install them the wrong way? I thought they pretty much only go in one way.

As many others have mentioned, the XL pads are way more comfy than the originals. This is what they should have come with in the first place, I guess it's a style thing.

The price was very nice too, good stuff.

I personally find the difference night and day. With the Xl pads the bass becomes too harsh, while everything else seems laid back and boring.
It can't just be me who thinks it sounds better squished closer to the ears?

You're not alone :) same for me so i went back to stock cushions

I had the stock pads on (with paper towel mod) on my M100's. They were quite comfortable, and sounded very good.

I just swapped over to the XL pads. Pretty much the same comfort level for me, but I'm not sure that I'm a fan of how the sound has changed. I'll give them a chance though...

Edit: not sure if it's just due to my ears getting used to the sound, or due to me having had a couple of cocktails, but either way I'm digging the sound now quite a bit. To be continued in the morning lol.

How long is it comfortable to wear these headphones for with the XL pads?

I can listen to my M-100 with XL pads for hours in comfort. But some people can't. It all depends on your ears size and shape I guess.
