So i today i got my M50RD ( special thanks for my mom ^^ )

After the first dubstep it sounded epic

But then after like an hour of use i didn't even FEEL THE BASS!

I used my computer and my iphone and the bass isn't just " BASSY "

I mean i CAN hear it but unlike the Q460 Which my friend owns, i can't like " Feel " it!

What to do?

I have NO IDEA like really NO IDEA in headphones, i just read alot on the m50 and i thought of buying the HFI580 but soon after i can't find it anywhere in my country i buyed the M50

Should i buy an amilifier?
What does it do?

Thanks everyone!

Here are my insights and suggestions as I too own the ATH-M50.

1.)  Give yourself 3 weeks of listening before you make a final decision
2.)  The ATH-M50 is a more neutral sounding headphone keeping the bass, mids, and treble in check rather than bloating the bass like so many other headphones.  This means that you may be used to other super bass heavy and uneven sounding headphones that are not necessary more accurate technically.  Many people think more bass equals better than which just is not true.
3.)  Go listen to some YouTube clibs of Juno Reactor and listen to the bass.  You will actually find that the ATH-M50 does go down quite low, but in a more accurate way than headphones you are probably used to.

An amp may help you extract an extra 5-10% out of the headphones, but in the end it is not going to be a night to day difference.

The m50 is somewhat "neutral" it have like a 5db bass boost  but 5db is not much. An amplifier may be make your Ath M50 sound with more bass, however don't expect miracles. An amplifier that have bass boost is what you need, HOWEVER with this option on, the sound may be become muddy.

AT have been making updates to their headphone drivers, the M50 are not as bassy as they used to be.

You're not supposed to feel the bass all that much in headphones.

True. The HFI580 would've been better, and the ATH WS99 would've been exponentially better.

Oh c'mon are you kidding me ;(

What can I do?! When I hear dubstep the bass is like .. " dumb"! It sounds like it had some like static but not static, like broken bass, I want a refund from them since I got it only yesterday. But it was a birthday present from my mom! What do?
