$999 Calyx M with DXD + DSD, 64GB + SD + µSD storage - Page 321

Because you don't need a separate headphone amplifier with the Calyx M, you can bundle the M with a fitting external accupack and you are prepared for the longest flight.

Yeah given I intend on keeping the M for a little while I think a battery pack will be a wise purchase. thanks.

If you are travelling it would be the best way to go.  Which battery pack is the best to pickup?  One of the Ankers?

also can you play the M (with FW1.01) whilst it is charging (from a flat battery)? When the battery goes flat on my M and I plug it in to charge I cannot seem to turn it on and use it until it gets a certain amount of charge. When I do turn it on and it is charging from a flat battery point it just presents the charging screen. thanks.

Finally!

Kudos to King at Square Wave in Hong Kong for sending this directly to me. Great guy to deal with.

Now the fun begins.

Well the M jack certainly solves the distortion problem with the Flat-4 KAEDE. All my reference tracks play clean.

Anyone else listening to the M (with jack) and KAEDE? That is one hell of Led Zeppelin rig. Celebration Day is like sitting in the stadium. Big time sound, guys... Huge!

That is the M jack, now included as standard equipment with the M. It is free to early buyers also but it took a while for me to get mine.

It resolves an unusual problem where certain IEMs otherwise sometimes distorted when driven directly from the M's headphone out.

Really love the sound of Calyx M.
If the battery life can last longer, it would be perfect.

Has battery life improved over UI updates ?

or is it still 5 hours max playing alac or flac files ? (I don't use hi res files)

The M recently received some nice press in an Absolute Sound review of the Astell & Kern AK240.  http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/astellkern-ak240/?utm_campaign=Newsletter&utm_medium=email&page=3&utm_source=email-336

"Both the AK240 and Calyx M had an equal level of control and finesse."

Sure, lots of features less, but also less than half the price.
