Objective and machine analysis of DAP output? Specifically Apple devices?

As in measurements?  I just had a quick look found these iPod Classic LOD vs Headphone, I wouldn't put much faith in their relevance without a load attached though.

I'm pretty new to looking at all those charts but nothing is sticking out to me as particularly offensive which is a good thing.
 
I am curious if the sound quality of Apple devices has gotten better over time and how it stacks up against a budget stand alone DAC.
 
I'm going to get a udac3 and hook it up to my IP4.  I'll try to A/B that with my IP5s.
