Hi all,
just wanted to report on my recent mod to the standard BioScienceGeek's CMOY. I recently received the 18v version and was using with my Westone 3s (I know, common view is that the W3s don't need amping - I disagree but that's another discussion). However, having tried a few op amps in there I discovered that JDS labs had the AD8620 soldered onto a BrownDog. Yes, it's not a cheap op amp but...what a major, major refinement over the AD712 that it came with and the OPA2227 that I switched in from my other JDS Cmoy!

It's a very tight squeeze since the BrownDog is bigger than the other op amp chips but, as I said, the difference is immense. Such a great combination of warmth and presence. The sound stage has increased from what was already pretty good with the other two op amps.

So, although amping the Westones may not be necessary (and certainly not 18v - although, again I found that a pretty good improvement) having an 18v CMoy allows this mod (since the AD8620 needs 18v) and this in turn allowed me to experience a fantastic op amp.

If you've got an 18v CMoy (either JDS or BSG or other makes that allow amp rolling) I thoroughly recommend spending the extra $27 on the AD8620 adaptor!

I'll add a photo of the adaptor in situ just for reference later. Let me know if any one has any questions.
