I would, if I can somehow make these tiny uniform holes on premade earpads. My mod is the best that can be done with knives or sharp scissors.

Maybe to get you off brainstorming, it almost looks like that material is from car upholstery or something. At least that's what it reminds me of.

The tech. at Oppo told me the PM-1 will work really well directly out of the headphone out of the BDP 105. Same dacs in 105 as used in the HA-1. The 105 plus PM-1 could make a really nice, simple system for those of us with the 105.

2013 release date is promising, at least the speculation on the thread wont have too long to wait :p

Haha, now I know I just need to bitch and moan to get something worthwhile.

Thanks for the pics, Jude, they're lovely.  I still hate the 25-odd pages of number-farting that people have to sift through to find the good stuff.

Hmmm, very interested in giving theses a go!

I think everyone is forgetting that oppo is not some small specialty headphone maker that has to charge extreme specialty prices.
Given their ability in their products they can easily churn out plenty and make sizable profit on mass production of a unit that from appearance seems clearly aimed at a larger market with it's styling.
With that said, I will take one for $399

SOLD!

If the headphones are close to the quality of their Blu-Ray/CD/SACD players I'm sold.

As some knights once said,  "one that is not too expensive."  I'm intrigued, but only if the price is right.

The hype train has gone warp speed. No one has heard these and yet we're throwing prices like 1.5-1.7k, by looks... let alone by a company that has never made headphones lol

Sounds like an elite hype version of Dre Beats....

If your price estimate checks out - I set an individual-headset ceiling of $400.00 for my medium-impedance (viz., 100-600Ω) showdown - the Oppo® PM-1 could very well land the monitoring-headset position on my Asus® CM1630-06 as upgraded, as the XONAR's® Texas Instruments® TP6120A2 (Zs=10.7Ω) has no problem with resistive loads down to 32Ω.
