c'mon man, why dontcha just go make your own.
That's the spirit!
I would, if I can somehow make these tiny uniform holes on premade earpads. My mod is the best that can be done with knives or sharp scissors.
Maybe to get you off brainstorming, it almost looks like that material is from car upholstery or something. At least that's what it reminds me of.
The tech. at Oppo told me the PM-1 will work really well directly out of the headphone out of the BDP 105. Same dacs in 105 as used in the HA-1. The 105 plus PM-1 could make a really nice, simple system for those of us with the 105.
Haha, now I know I just need to bitch and moan to get something worthwhile.
Thanks for the pics, Jude, they're lovely. I still hate the 25-odd pages of number-farting that people have to sift through to find the good stuff.
If your price estimate checks out - I set an individual-headset ceiling of $400.00 for my medium-impedance (viz., 100-600Ω) showdown - the Oppo® PM-1 could very well land the monitoring-headset position on my Asus® CM1630-06 as upgraded, as the XONAR's® Texas Instruments® TP6120A2 (Zs=10.7Ω) has no problem with resistive loads down to 32Ω.
