Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

I like the jokes:D

Cheers, John. Anything to lighten up the mood. Enough of the bad vibes for one day.

Btw, I can finally tell my wife that my earphones look better than her earrings. Ha! I just hope she doesn't get jealous and asks for one of her own. You know, wives.

Precisely the point. People are naive to believe that the outrage a few pages back are because we simply want a Black Friday sale. It's partially because of principle. You'd expect a supposedly prestigious company to honor their word. Saying that you're a global brand and that the norms of American retail doesn't apply to you is laughable when you're based in the US. But that's not a big deal; simple miscommunication between Brannan and the Wizard. We'll brush that aside. Their biggest offense is the constant flow of narcissistic comments, more precisely, Brannan's narcissistic comments. At no point should a company tell us how lucky we are that they're even considering the idea of running a promotion. You don't need a doctorate to realize that people will be offended by that statement. I understand that some of you shook hands with Brannan and its hard to speak ill of someone you've met, but that doesn't change the fact that the man was offensive in just about every one of his last posts. Perhaps he doesn't realize it, but he was, and I have no problem pointing that out. Know that I'm not the first person to be offended by Brannan, and I'm likely not the last. You guys want to do business with a company that believes they're better than you, then by all means give them your money. But for others, there are better options to be had. Oh and by the way Brannan, you're still getting that tip jar.

You have to admit you went a bit overboard too. And a BF promotion for a stadard company like Best Buy or something is one thing coz they just sell you their stock at a discount for a day and that's it. Yeah, things can get crazy but it's just a day, With a CIEM company like Noble you have A LOT of people waiting for it and all trying to save some money on a BF sale. But it's not like Noble has all these units in stock. So now they have a huge amount of orders to make for at least several months to come and technically you have a whole team of people working for less for months just because of Black Friday.

I don't know what you do but I'm sure something like this could apply to your work in some way. For me it would be like the law firm announcing it will be taking new clients on BF at 20% lower fees and we would have a humongous amount of work to do in a span of few months while being payed less. So you should put things in perspective - most companies don't out everything on sale for BF - just the products they need to move faster but Noble are already moving everything, so maybe they should be putting something like just Noble 3 and its custom versions on sale as less people seem to be interested in them.

Oooh, sneaky. But it won't work with her. She's clued in on this whole process. She knows that she'll have to go for ear impressions before ordering any customs. Damn! I shouldn't have told her so much.

Basically, if she tells me she wants a blinged out K10 for her Christmas gift, I'm going to have live on noodles for a month. Or 2.

You'll get her a blinged out Noble 3 or 4 and tell her it's K10 - she won't know the difference in sound and will still be happy with the fancy looks

Thanks for the comment, koba4a, but while the exchanges started out because of the contradictions made by Brannan and John, the reason why it has gotten out of hand is because of all the narcisstic comments that I mentioned. At that point, it was no longer about whether if they're going to run a promotion or not, but how they're addressing their potential customers. I've spent time working in customer service a few years back, and would never speak to people in such a manner. And to be honest, it's not my business to worry about whether if they can handle the workload from promotional purchases. If they don't think they can do it, don't run the promotion. Simple as that. There's no need to come into a public forum and offend people who were attracted by the idea of a promotion. I was interested in the K10 way before Black Friday, but no discount would make want these CIEMs again thanks to these unsavory exchanges. That's the point I'm trying to convey. You're never paying money for just a product, you're paying for an experience.

Ahhh, now that's a plan I could go along with. Not only will I look like a great hubby, but I won't have to live on instant noodles for a whole month.

Exactly, coz the whole thing started because of that and a promise that was made a year ago when Noble was just founded and they couldn't have known how things will work out a year later. And let's be honest - mentioning a promotion a year in advance on an internet forum is not exactly legally binding or making you a bad sport if you don't honor it.
You call their post narcissistic, one can call yours being full of self-entitlement.
I don't think we should be discussing this whole thing anymore. You have your views and opinion and other people have theirs.
But talking about experience - Brannan is awesome and I personally haven't seen better customer service and communication in a long time.

P.S. and you dog remark about him was ridiculously uncalled for and offensive but I won't argue about this anymore.

Well, I'm not about repeat everything I just said, cause you clearly are not understanding the reason behind the exchanges. I never once demanded anything. I wasn't even the one who pointed out the fact that he stated that he would run a promotion last year. If you believe that this was simply because of a promise, so be it. I hope the Brannan & the "Wizard" treats you with the respect that's apparently not warranted by those who have yet to purchase one of their products. Good luck.

Changing subject, I find the Shure 846 just about fits my smallish ears. Can any 846 owner tell me if the K10 universal is bigger?

I have both T-shirts Noble has ever made and either given out or sold. I don't own any of their products, yet I have their shirts. I have never had anyone else in my 50 years on this planet do that for me. :beerchug:

I have none of their t-shirts and have never purchased one of their products, but I had the virtue of having been taught a lesson by Brannan about how lucky we are to have such a prestigous company in our country, that also operates globally mind you. In fact we should be thankful that we breathe the same air as them. /end sarcasm.

Some forum members have confirmed that the K10 U shares the same shell as the universal Noble 3-8. In any case, the Noble universals are bigger than the SE846.
