Dunu DN-1000 - Dunu's hybrid IEM - Impressions thread

This is exactly what I use, and there is bass but not like the se215, and sounds a bit thin.(Still, I much prefer the dunu because his sound is simply amazing from all other way than se215)
Maybe I need the" Monster SuperFoam"?
Anybody else tried them (what that JoeDoe offered)?

What source are you using nat? I haven't heard SE215 but the Dunu should be quite pleasing in the low end.

I'm using Galaxy S3
but Sometimes I use cowon c2 and I do not like his sound, but I'm surprised that dunu causing it to sound good, but I prefer the Galaxy S3.
My previous player was iriver u10 ( but broken) and he was very detailed and clean with good separation (like the dunu) and that's what I love .

Yes, seal is very important and a little lapse can drastically affect the DN1000's sound.

Definitely not a good seal, bass impact and depth wise, given a good seal, SE215 does not come anywhere near Dunu

Well, finally ordered a pair.  Found a pair for 180 on ebay shipping from NC.  Listed as new, and explained as in during the month shipping wait, the seller bought a different pair and likes em, so here's hoping for $180 they're legit.

I'm wondering if your Samsung Galaxy S3 is having some mismatch with the 10ohm Dunu to experience a low level of bass.

The output impedance of S3 is: 3.45ohms, which is a little high for the 10ohm Dunu however this graph from Golden Ears shows a flat response under load of 16ohm. I don't understand why you're hearing low bass levels, it must be seal related, unless by some strange occurrence your Dunu are faulty or the impedance is causing it, I have had problems pairing Dunu with JDS C421 but I would really lean against the impedance causing this. Especially if you're experiencing little bass across all your sources.

Hi all,

I ordered a dn-1000 about 10 days ago from mp4nation and am still waiting. Hope I'll be impressed when I try it out just as you are. To be honest this forum massively helped me to choose the right iem. Well, I wasn't completed new to the forum at all due to the fact I have been reading and observing. Good day to you all.

Welcome to Head Fi and we apologize for your wallet!  It certainly looks like a promising IEM, especially with the added versatility of the spacers and such.  I'm waiting for mine to arrive too, altho I did not go thru mp4nation.  I hope you're happy with your purchase!

So, something I'm curious about.  How well can these do with Classical music?

I definitely wouldn't say that classical is their forte, they're a little bass heavy for that. They do however separate very well and have an excellent soundstage.

Hmm...  I'll have to see what I think about it once it arrives.  I really like my current classical IEM, so if its not replaced there is no real loss.
