DX50 Bug List, Wish List Fix

Sep 12, 2013 at 4:42 AM Post #121 of 1,212
Let's just say it was so bad that I would always unplug my IEMs before powering off and power the unit on before plugging in. After having a "scared the **** out of me" moment I was quite good at remembering to do so lol.

Good lesson :) I too had that moment when I started DX50 on high gain mode and pretty shocked.

What iem were you using? Even with tg334 this so-called "pop" on high gain is nothing like the dx100 one. This is more like just a muted click to me than a "pop".....

I do not hear "pop" sound reported in this thread.. however, when using Heir 5.0, I can hear very very tiny hiss....

Can't remember which but I'm swapping between PFE232 and SHE3590, haven't even tried my SE535LTD!

Well unless these are way more sensitive than the tg334, it seems your unit or your earphone could be defective if you pick up a pop noise. As mentioned even with my most sensitive IEM I can only hear a very muted click noise.

Any sign of the new firmware yet?

I found the reason, my unit remembers last used volume, I remember trying SR60 on high gain with 200+ volume (again can't remember what is the exact number) and then I swapped one of the IEM and got loud pop to my surprise (actually to my horror). Now I just tried SE535LTD with low gain and 200 volume, the pop gives me very bad effect (to explain similar to scratching of metal door to some people) that is how I feel about this pop which I guess many people have no problem.

That doesn't sound very pleasing either :P. But with the DX100 imagine a firecracker blowing up in your ear (regardless of the volume) and that's about right....

Gee. that's loud...
I listen to my GR07 MKII on 170 at low gain. Mine remembers the last volume as well unless it turns itself off with the stupid off after a certain amount of time thing. The max time is 30 minutes What???

Yes I listen to high volume initially may be I can call it ear burn-in or new-toy-syndrome, it takes a while to wear out. I don't have auto off problem. My problem is kind of weird, some album like Hits (George Jones) will not play full song just previews like 30 seconds to 1 minute then it will seek next song this continues throughout the album and everytime! I did all the mp3 cleaning as well.

update: actually it is itunes purchased m4a, but I don't have problems with ALAC in general because most of the songs are m4a and it works perfectly.

I received different kind of mail, the one I sent couple of days back where touch screen stopped responding, which luckily jj69 helped me with simple solution to remove battery, which actually resolved my issue. iBasso sent me a different solution involving recovery menu, it might come handy, posting below:

Hi,
Please using the following instruction to do the factory reset. You touch screen should work after that.
1, press and hold both of the power button and the Vol + button for 5 seconds, then release it.
2, you will entry the blue recovery mode.
3, you can use your 3.5mm headphone jack to touch the coaxial jack and flick the hold switch to operate on this recovery mode.
4, select the wipe date/factory reset (click the power button to select)

Tried it, it is very interestingly implemented (Recovery Menu), when you touch the co-axial output jack with your headphone connector, the menu gets highlighted and goes down on each attempt, when you flip hold switch the selection goes upward, pressing power button activates it, I tried rebooting this way and it worked well.
