I am talking about reshelling. However there are options, you can have extra drivers added during the reshelling e.g. my westone 3's have 3 drivers (hence the name) but when I have them reshelled I could opt to have an extra driver inserted at a premium.
The price difference between extra driver and not:
Reshell inc ear mould - £225
Reshell, ear mould + 1 driver - £335
What I dont know is what will happen to the sound and its a lot of money for the gamble. I'm leaning toward not bothering with the extra driver.

i cant really sell them they're rattling in one ear. I've investigated reshelling is my most likely route.
No, for the money....for the type of music....for the bass...for the great Westone quality and cable...I don't think you can do any better than the W3. The Sonys would be a downgrade.

I have not had all the Sonys but they all seem to have a common characteristic of hot or siblant treble which is quite fatiguing. W3 is legendary. First ever 3 way crossover universal IEM. BIG full sound, can't make it distort at any volume, great detail top to bottom, big soundstage....very little to complain about with that type of music. Was my favorite IEM for years. But for jazz I prefer the SE535 ever since the STAR tips came out.
