I've got a USB headset whose sound isn't great, so I wanted to use the USB headset for its mic and another pair of regular headphones for sound in games.  Is there any way to configure it to do this?  I'm on Windows 7, if that means anything.

EDIT: I mean if I were to plug in the USB headset and the headphones in at the same time, I'd wear the headset around my neck with the mic up and a pair of headphones on my head so I can hear with those.  Plugging them in at the same time at the moment just forces all the sound to be played through the headset and I can't hear anything through the headphones.

Gemini HSR-1000 (Takstar Pro 80) closed headphone, $50 on eBay.
Technical Pro HPT-990 (Takstar Hi2050) semi-open headphones, $70.

The HPT-990 are semi-open, so a little better for surround sound,
but the HSR-1000 are a little better audio quality wise.

Asus Xonar DG (PCI) sound card, $30 and there is a $10 mail in rebate.

Add any add-on mic you like, one that uses a 3.5mm jack.

Thanks, but uh, I might have worded that wrong.

What USB headphone are you using?

If you plug USB headphones into a PC, audio will be switched over to the USB headset and bypass any other headphones plugged in.
or are you think of somehow plugging the separate headphones into the headset's USB adapter?

But my two cents is to sell off the USB headset and get new headphones & mic and the Xonar DG.

I think it's a Logitech H330, and yes, it's being switched, which is why I wanted to know if there was somehow a software configuration on the sound control panel or something that I could do that would let the headset be used for the microphone without obscuring my headphone's (ATH-A900x) sound.  And I don't really have money to spare at the moment.
