As of recent I have had a hankering for a little better headset, I felt this was a good forum to start doing some digging on the topic. My current headsets are a Sennheiser eH-150 and a Tritton AX-51 Pro for my gaming needs.
 
For audio background I have installed a 3 way with subwoofer active setup in my car and built a set of bookshelf speakers. What I have come to love about both are the smooth yet detailed nature of the tweeters, overall detail of the sound, the staging, and presence of the sound. My current headphone selection just doesnt cut it for what I want in music, movies, or gaming.
 
For headphone amplification I already have my USB sound card for my laptop (Creative X-Fi, HT Omega Striker 7.1 for the desktop I still need to build XD) and a Sansui AU-555a that I use to drive my bookshelf speakers (also has a headphone jack, beautiful sounding amplifier).
 
I have done a little reading thus far and have much more to do but I am sure I will need questions answered that my searching just doesnt bring a suitable answer for along the way.
