Your comparison led me to buy the NAD HP50 in red and it was the best decision ever.
  Though i don't know about wearing them out because of that boxy headband, but it is really comfy.

Glad you're enjoying them! Great headphones for sure!

Don't forget about the legendary Sennheiser HD-25.
No, forget about it!
The HD25Alu takes the same sound to a new level and keeps the addicting sound signature.=)
I would easily rank it among the Top 3 in your list heaving listened To B&W P7 and KEF M500.

I'd like to hear the new version of that headphone. I've had a lot of experience with the hd25-II.

How does the T51p compare to the P7s? I like my B&Ws but I long for tighter bass and more midrange quantity.

I think the P7s still have tighter bass, but are far less portable. The T51p's are better "portable" headphones for on the go. If you're looking for just sound, I like the P7s by a hair.

Well, I just picked up a pair of the V-Moda XS today at lunch...more to come.

I should have them up on the first page within a week or so.

Initial impressions...these win for pure portability. Heck they're almost IEMs in that regard.

Very nice! I liked the xs when i had it. I find it sonically, along the lines of moe but slightly edging it out. Portability i would probably say its the smallest one out there with this kinda amazing build quality. The only other headphone that THIS SMALL is the new bose soundtrue on ear model, but thats entirely plastic!

Interesting! Though I suspect they wont be able to keep up with many of the cans on your list...But will wait and see.

Actually after one afternoon with them at work, they certainly hold their own among those in the top tier. Very balanced, but on the warmer side of neutral...and a big sound for such a small pair of headphones.

How do you find the placement of the instruments/voices? I found them to be odd, like I would hear the voice above or ahead of cymbals/kicks/snares. Not sure what the audiophile term for that is. Possibly too forward?

Give me a few more days. I'm planning on really comparing them closely to my T51p's.

sounds good!

i only had a brief listen to the t51p when comparing them with my xs at the time.

i thought the t51ps were just tighter the in bass the treble was more refined.

the midrange was not as enveloping as the xs (which sounded amazing with female vocals)

the comfort i would say the xs was slightly better because i don't know why but my ears aren't fond of circle earcups the hexagonal earcups on the xs distributed the weight better.

stability i would easily give it to the t51p no contest

but build quality i would have a harder time putting one over the other

the xs just felt more substantial in the hand (the t51p were lighter i think).plus detachable cables are always a plus for me! not the most fond of double sided cables (but if its double side and detachable, i'm okay!)

t51p isolated better too

any chance of getting the onkyo fc300? its certainly seems like it hits all the marks for a portable headphone on you list!

Both are certainly 2 of the best on-ear portable headphones I've heard...but damn the XS are so darn portable!

If anyone wants to send me the Onkyo FC300 for a loan, I'd be happy to add them!

I bought the t51p off of recommendations here and I definately like the sound better than the xs I already had. For portability the the xs is hard to beat. I find most all on ears uncomfortable after 15 minutes or so but I have no problems with either of these.
