Ah! Finally heard the P7!

They were comfortable, 20x as comfortable as the Momentum, and about as comfortable as the ES FC300. Build was expectedly fantastic

Sound wise... well, there was nothing to complain about. They were good, about as good as the momentum. They weren't very enjoyable. At least the momentum is intimate, so it sounded different.

The ES FC300 is definitely what I prefer. Best bass, and a wonderful soundstage. Please someone buy them!

Tried the NAD HP50 for a short time today, comparing it to my P7. The two are definitely in the same league (meaning, neither is a clear step up over the other) but they were a bit different.
 
I found the P7 to have marginally stronger and better defined bass. The midrange is more forward on the NAD, and I did prefer it to the P7 in that department. In terms of treble, I can't say for sure which one I like more but the NAD is a little darker. I think the treble of the P7 is a tad more refined though. Soundstage was definitely better on the P7. 
 
Overall, while I liked the somewhat richer and more confident midrange of the NAD, I did find the P7 more satisfactory.

The midrange of the HP50 wasn't overly present. The P7 has a mild U-shape to its sound, not in any way excessive but it is there (and I don't mind, really). The HP50 felt more flat, but in my opinion not quite as refined at the highs and lows.

I heard the P7 and the slightly recessed midrange bored me. I guess I listen to my MA900, MDR 1R, and Grados too much.

The HP50 looks like it sounds good but it sure is ugly. Someone in the K545 thread said something interesting (not a direct quote): he said that there are so many good cans that you might as well pick whichever one looks and feels the best. Very true.

The HP50 is not an attractive design in my eyes either, but to its defense it did look better in real life than in pictures.

lol. I listened to the K545 vs. PSB m4u2 vs. Momentum (on-ear) vs. P7 vs K550 at a demo station in Best Buy today.
 
I spent a lot of time there, but I still don't feel comfortable ranking them or describing anything too in-depth except that the Momentum ON-ear is a clear-step down for me (over-emphasized bass) and the K550 had the best sound stage.
 
I didn't have my own source to use, so since the P7 was on a different source, it is hard to say anything about them as any difference can be due to the source/amp/dac/whatever they have it hooked up to. The P7 were very nice, but I probably wouldn't spend $400 on em vs. the $200 AKG K545 (just my own personal opinion).
 
edit: for people interested in the B&W vs. akg (or others), you should bring your own source files & player to a Magnolia best buy to try it out yourself to see if the price difference is worth it for you personally :)

Yes! Spot-on with the differences; the NAD's did indeed have a pretty darn good mid-range, but the treble and bass (especially the bass) weren't where I wanted them to be. The soundstage is indeed bigger on the P7, I noticed this after watching the same movie on the both of them.
 
*Oh, and it's been mentioned before, but the NAD's do place some pressure on your noggin'. It would get quite uncomfortable after a while.
