So the guide recommends the Monster iSport, the old model. They've now got a new model I couldn't find a thread on:

I like the idea because they'll hopefully be bass heavy, which is nice for working out and my preferred music (Electronic. Think Adam Beyer live at Berghain).

Water proof is important - i sweat a lot during a 10k and it's broken other earphones (it killed the controltalk on my tours within 2-3 workouts). I read the old ones used to be marketed as waterproof but I can't see any mention of waterproofing about these?

Any word on the new model? I read the reviews for the old one and it's the usual deal with Monster - falls apart, **** build quality, lots of complaints about fit. But, good sound (for people who like more bass).

After my first and only Monster experience, I'm reluctant to buy from them again. A

I have the original iSport and have had no issues with it.  I got one for my mom too and she really likes it.  I also had the original Turbine that lasted me 18 months before I lost it.  I'm sure people have QC issues with some of them but that happens with many mfgrs.  I've had more issues with Shure than I care to think about!  My only hesitation at this point with these is that at the price point there are several good pairs of workout phones.  I might look at the Bose or the new Adventure series by Westone.

I am using the new Victory model and used to own the old model as well. The old model was more plasticky especially the ear wings making them a bit uncomfortable. The new model uses rubber wings which helps a lot.

Sound wise they are similar but the new model has better sound in all areas in my opinion, not tons better, but better. These have a bass oriented sound but are not bass head iems they actually have very good mids as well as treble and a pretty decent sound stage. I would go so far as to say they over the most audiophile type sound of the sports oriented IEM's I have heard. In comparison to the West one ADV I like their signature a lot more. But I have heard the ADV may have changed its signature so my opinion may be dated (not willing to buy them again just to find out though).

The build quality of the Victory seems a bit better than the old model as well but I have only owned them a month so can't really say for sure.

The one complaint my wife has is the mic on the Victory sucks, so if you plan on talking lots take that into consideration.

The West one ADV models are made of metal and will definitely be more durable. Their cable is also heavy duty plus reflective for safety but it also is cloth so suffer from cable noise which is bad for an active iem .
