Anyone tried both TTPOD and the tenore? Looking for a cheap iem for walkabout since I dont always have time to take my iems out from their case for a quick listen. Currently have InEar SD-2 and ASG-2. Prefer SD-2 for general listening a.k.a neutral. Ive read that there are some quality control issues with the tenore? Thanks

I poked through it with a needle and then pulled it out with the needle. Unfortunately this seems to damage the mesh so it can't be put back. It should be possible to pry at the edges of the mesh with a needle until you can pry it up from the side, but you will need more patience for this. There is a bit of adhesive under the mesh around the outside edge. I just pulled it all off, but you could realistically just keep it there.
I used a very very small amount of normal cotton, and pushed it into the barrel with a toothpick. Sound has been absolutely phenomenal and consistent so far.
Doing Zero's job for them I see, tiss tiss tiss Zero, I'm just shaking me head here eke... I mean Zero.
Hehehe, the memories are priceless and dear to my heart.

I have both and did a comparison here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/684159/chinese-asian-brand-info-thread-headphones-iems-amps-dacs/5430#post_10759880
That said, the Tenores are little more balanced & neutral, but the build quality & comfort of the T1-E is impeccable in my opinion. They would probably make better walkabout iems... The sound is a bit more fun while still being fairly technical and detailed. They are actually really close, and they are my two favorites from what I've tried. I haven't had any issues with my Tenores though it seems like everyone else has at one point or another...
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

I have both. For walking around, I would definitely recommend the TTPOD. Fit is more snug and seemingly less prone to QC issues. The TTPOD T1E is built like a tank. Tenore is (usually) bass-forward with a lot of detail in the mids, while TTPOD T1E has a flatter signature (sounds a bit like beyerdynamic signature), wider sound stage, with more prominent treble and a touch less detail. TTPOD has a bit more amping requirements than the Tenore, though, to sound its best.

Popped in the er4s again today. Wow. I got a great fit and the sound was amazing. But then i remembered why i started searching more. Ouch. Lol. They are more like the tenore than i remebered with silicon tips.
The tenore is like a slightly warmer er4s with amazing sub bass. I just need to try to cotton to see if the treble will stop fluctuating. When it's good there is barely any "softness", but i definitely hear soft treble more lately. And with my mh1 imbalance i'm thinking it's all moisture related. Anyway to cottonize the mh1?

I'm on day 6 now of TTS-free Tenore listening. Today I've been listening for a few hours as opposed to just one or two, really putting them through the paces. The sound has been 100% consistent and top-notch throughout. Things are looking good...

I'm happy to hear this. I will have to make a tutorial. Now I hope my cable lasts where it meets the housing :-/

Let's not get carried away
The Tenore is like an ER4S with more subbass. The bass quality is really a weakness here. At least on my set. I'll try to EQ it down to EX1000 flatness and see how it stands up, but at the moment, the bass on the Rockets absolutely is several steps ahead in quality, even with a bit of rolloff. It's pretty jarring actually.

Such a tragedy with these IEMs. It's been a lesson to observe the progression in awareness of the consistency of the problems with QC. A lot of folks were completely dismissive of those who raised an eyebrow when the initial reports of problems started to trickle in.

Always could split the housing apart and do a cable swap.
So my left driver has slight driver flex, should I be worried? Does this mean that failure is inevitable or will have no effect on the life of the driver? I don't really mind it, I just worry about it.

Some of my phones have had driver flex for years and are still going strong. I've heard 50+ pairs of IEMs and ime driver failure is an extremely rare issue.

Agreed. Driver flex would be the least of my worries with these. The first thing to go bad will probably be the cable. IMO the Tenore is worth it only for those that can mod their iems, you can tune the bass yourself, you can filter the reverberations somewhat and you can replace the cable. Otherwise i wouldn't expect it to last a year and i wouldn't want to gamble with the bass either.
