curiously i nearly forgot to mention physical and fit aspects of ASG2, indeed i primarily concentrated on music and that small thing escaped my attention.
Package as sent by Eke looked simple and good: nice plastic case having rubberized top and bottom, actually ASG box is larger in size than what i am used to but is good and comfortable (also relatively thin). i assume you can use the box to stock your ASG and perhaps a small DAP or thin amp. inside the box i found stock cable, a set of various tips (not sure what tips Eke included), a small screwdriver for adjusting bass ports. that was it. I am not sure what was missing from the original package, perhaps the jack adapter, warranty, that's it?
ASG-2 quality itself was pretty good, shells are made of sturdy plastic (acrylic? i am not sure) and are well rounded, no small bits or pieces sticking out, simply silky smooth. despite build quality inspires confidence i would not be willing to try them in crash tests. besides one must care about pins which protrude a bit deeper than would be normal Westone type. Westone recessed cables will pass but will seat less stiff and can disconnect more easily. i think those who have ASG2 understand what i mean.
Black painted version i did not like at all, Eke told me wearing off paint spots were the result of some accidents, still i assume that should not have happened to good paint. More so i was wondering why people would want black or stealth version when white frost with red logo would look the coolest almost like mystifying version? If i will buy ASG-2 this will be white frost version with red logo for sure. Black i leave for ''men in black''
Fit was very good, i did not have any issues here and achieved good seal with enclosed tips. i could find passing for me tips easily too, thanks Eke. Wearing comfort was really good, no issues for me. i did not try them on the go but i assume these are not for doing active sports during listen. still i repeat, i did not try it and perhaps Eke will disagree with me here.
What else? Ah, cable. Cable felt pretty generic, nothing special to talk about. It did not inspire much confidence in me. What was good the cable was very flexible, so flexible that you will not have any problems wearing it on the go, splitter was fixed and i noticed nearly no microphonic issues. The build quality was Ok but not on par with IEM itself.
Basically that's it.
