Well, that's why the VSD3s packaging was teased - to supposedly prove that the VSD3 is completed down to the packaging, so I guess they should have started or should be about to start mass production, so it's ready for the promised January release.

That's great, are you gong to pick up any of these new ones? Is so which one are you thinking.

Well, initially I was thinking of skipping all of them and just waiting for the VSD9 but I already cracked and ordered a Noble 4, so I might as well just go for the cheaper vsonics anyway - maybe a VSD3S and a VSD5 and wait for their higher-end models VSD7/S and VSD9 to be released and reviewed by someone else before considering them. I'm still not 100% sure what I'll do - you know how head-fi is - one day you're considering not buying anything for awhile and the next day you crack and your wallet's empty again.

Nope. Don't know that feeling at all.

nice my order arrived earlier than expected. Just notice that the VS1D/VS1DS is not listed on the vsonic website.

Listening to my VSD1S with my Sony and E11, and these are just the best for $40.00. 80's metal never sounded better.

Ain't that the truth, right know I can honestly say I do not want any hifi things right now, I actually just bought a rare Bearded Dragon instead. I will pick up one of the newer Vsonics when they come out though.

One thing I noticed with the Vsonic VSD1S is that you cannot EQ it much at all. It's got to be flat, with the slightest bass and treble boost, or it will distort or become colored in a negative way. Especially on the Sansa. Just the opposite of the XBA-30.

Having lost one of the drivers for the VC02 and never being able to get a very good fit with the VSD1. I'm in the market for new earphones.

If the VC02 and the VSD1 had a love child what would it be? But it can't be the VSD1S because of the fit problem.

Would the GR02 BE make a good choice? I like a little 'extra' bass if it's controlled. $60 is about the budget.

No. It would not. I just got the GR99LE and it's the love child of the VC02 and VSD1. From reviews and comments made by CheliOS and others, going from the GR99LE to the GR02 is NOT an upgrade, and even with minimal burn in time so far, the bass is articulate and controlled, yet pronounced enough, with crystal clear highs and smoothness. I recommend the GR99 as a replacement and well under your budget.

Thank for your reply

I'm assuming the Luxury Edition is the GR99's with the black barrels?  I have GR99's with the silver barrels like is pictured at Lend Me Ur Ears, which are not labeled as Luxury Edition.I'm not having any luck finding any information on the LE via Google.

Is there/what is the difference besides the color? I like my GR99's but they are somewhat ordinary in comparison to the VSD1/VC02.

I'm not sure the exact difference, but usually with VSonic, there is usually a sonic difference with their LE editions, albeit better bass response/slightly different tuning ect. All i know is that I prefer the fun energetic sound of the GR99 over the somewhat more articulate but laid back sound of the VSD1. Plus the bass is better.

I know what you mean about the fun sound. It's one of the reasons I use the GR99 for working out.

After I had the VSD1 and VC02 for awhile I thought I wouldn't like the GR99s anymore. But they do what they do well.

I don't think you would feel an upgrade by going from VSD1 to GR02be. I owned the GR02be for a year, then bought the VSD1, and I kinda regretted that. Not because the VSD1 is bad, but it wasn't the upgrade I hoped it would be. I was pretty disappointed so I got the GR07be only a month after that, baaad for my wallet, but totally worth the upgrade

. Since Vsonic IEMs already have so great value for money, if you want to have an upgrade, you'll have to pay much than that. The GR02be has a V-shape sound signature, colder and cleaner; while VSD1 is fuller and warmer. Bass isn't bloated at all IMO, it has pretty much the same impact with the GR07be, but less details and texture. But noted that the GR02be sound is a lot different than the VSD1, so if you like the VSD1, you might not like the GR02be
