Centrance Hifi-M8 and Hifi-M8 LX (8 versions!) impressions thread

So basically for the LX you need Lightning to 30 pin -> CCK -> USB A to USB B right and not Lightning to 30 pin -> 30 pin USB LOD -> USB A to USB B?

From what I`ve read (but not experimented with myself) in the discussion that I posted a link to below:
*Basically Lightning to CCK cable and a USB-A to USb-B cable (kinda lanky imho).
or
*for older iphones 4/4S etc -old style 30pin CCK to a USB-A to USB-B cable.
Maybe style wise ok if you can mod a short A to B cable.

Its fairly well covered in this thread, which is still ongoing in its discoveries.

is this the cable you all are talking about http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD821ZM/A/lightning-to-usb-camera-adapter ? cause its listed as iPad only?

Yes, for iPhone 5/5c/5s. For iPhone 4/4s, use the leftmost adapter in this:

DISCLAIMER: I have only checked the iPhone 4 and 5c running iOS 7. Your mileage may vary. Eat with food. Discontinue use if a rash develops. Finally, Apple may change things at any time, so say no to automatic iOS updates.

There's a simpler way for IOS7 and Lightning. Apple Lightning USB Camera cable > USB A to USB B.

Yes I forgot that the cable is out, and you don't need th Wolfson DAC from the 30 pin adapter for this.

That only works for iPads no?

I don't believe this is correct. The CCK needs to be in the chain - I don't think there are any reports of USB audio working with IOS7 without it.

No need for the CCK:

How about iPod nano?

More-recent iPod nanos MIGHT work with the iDevice version through the MFi Apple port (USB A) on the M8 and a standard charging/syncing-type cable (either 30-pin or Lightning depending on model).  Can anyone check?   I would do it if my M8 were in my hands.  I preordered in Feb. so I am still waiting.

I really doubt if the iPod nano would work with the Lightning-to-USB Camera connector and the USB B port on the M8.  That is what people are talking about above.

My wifey still has an old iPod Nano (the first one w/ video - the little wide one) that I tried w/ the HiFi-M8 without issue!
I've been trying to get her into a new iPod for YRS - but she loves it!

That's encouraging...would be nice if someone could test the latest nano & confirm.
