I am still curios about output power of these. Any official number? Joe/James?

can't anyone guess from this??

4 OPA1612 used for current / voltage conversion and amplification
2 LMH6643 used for headphone output

I guess it depends on the implementation so we can say it will be quite powerful but how much exactly? X3 has plenty of juice and at the beginning James was considering reducing power a bit to make the unit more stable, cool (I mean not becoming hot after playing music long hours) and provide more battery life. I guess they still find a way to increase the power and still keep the device nice. (They stated X5 will be even more powerful than X3)

I can't remember it taking too long whenever I've reinserted it. So maybe not "seconds" but I've never been inconvenienced by it

I am curious about the OS and where the library is stored.  Is it stored in the internal memory of the X3 or X5?  If there were a significant time delay, it would be cool if there were an option to generate and store the library on the SC card itself, such that the DAP does not need to generate one upon insertion.  The DAP could run a quick check, and if the library isn't the newest file on the card, it would wipe it out and generate a new one.  Also - I assume that all file management on the computer end is just drag and drop file management, correct?  It would also be cool to have a simple app for the computer on the user end that: 1) formats cards as needed, 2) supports the drag and drop, 3) generates a library file for that card, and 4) shows the directory structure of that library file.  Obviously, I don't know anything about the product, so these ideas might not be relevant.

Good idea.  I would find this useful as I currently use 3 cards with my X3 and intend to do the same when the X5 is available.

I sort of knew all the specs/features (thanks to this thread), but seeing everything laid out like that has me excited all over again. X5 has great potential to be awesome. I would expect a nice bump up in sonic performance from the X3 (just guessing from all the specs/features). Fan boy inside me is giggling shamelessly.

I have to say - the X5 may not be glamourous, but damn... James and his team have really worked hard to provide features that their customers actually want, instead of just doing their own thing, crippling vital features along the way, and then expecting people to buy it regardless.

I foresee great things for Fiio, as a company, if they continue like this.

Anyone who's read this thread since it's beginning will know that I'm no 'Fanboy' for any DAP manufacturer, but truly - I have to take my hat off to James and his team - I literally cannot think of any other manufacturer that tries so hard to honestly give their customers what they ask for. I really admire that. To give iBasso their due, they do make a respectable effort, too, but right from the beginning, James has engaged with everyone in this thread (and I'm sure, others in China) and it is abundantly clear that he has walked-his-talk and implemented much of what has been discussed.

AND Fiio are not screwing customers for the privilege, either!

I take my hat off to you, James & team, and I suggest you take a bow!

The best part is, they actually listen to us and deliver what we want instead of telling us what we want through expensive marketing. As an example, I ended up spending a lot of money on the Geek Pulse as the creators listened and delivered instead of telling us. With that said,

X5 vs DX90. Fight!!!

The last few posts here is why I do wish James and the rest of Fiio success. It is also why I had faith in the X3 being a quality product. I believe the X3 is which is why I still have it. It's not perfect but by far the best audiophile dap I've owned. It's also why I'll probably buy the X5 even though I don't need it and I don't like the button placement (side buttons would be pretty nice). Fiio does have that X5 tour being set up so there should be some mini reviews of it so I'll have a better idea by the time they have it released in my country.
