The X3 is measured as near ruler flat.
Sound signature is very dependent on what you drive with the X3.
For example my orthos are on the bright side with the X3.
Really? It feels like there's a boost in the bass section despite what i use to drive the X3...
never once have i heard anyone commented on the X3 being on the bright side

yes,the amp section in X3 is powered by +/- power so there are not output couple capacitors , so the bass will not roll off because the output capacitor, it is more complex in design but it worth for better sound quality.
maybe you are compare to some DAPs which lack of sub bass so you feel it is more bright. also X3 need some time to burn in and make the treble more smooth.
Compared to my (former) Colorfly C4, the X3 was definitely brighter sounding.
One of the reasons I went to the E12 was to get away from that.
Also brighter than my Schiit Asgard desktop amp.
not, it is not because Chinese people don't need such features.
in X3, if we want to add this feature, the firmware must be re create from the bottom layout. ( not sure if this make sense, but it means we have to begin from zero ).
but for X5, it is a total new model to us, so we can start from zero and add this . and them we can add this to X3 when we have time in 2014 . you can think X3 is a building already finished and what we can do is make some small change. but X5 is a new building and just start from paper.
That's why I'm somewhat surprised you don't plan to support navigation by artists' albums from the beginning. I mean, you're starting from scratch and after all the X3 feedback you're aware that people want it.

Mine was compared with no break-in, true. However the E12 was better in the highs brand new.
As I have often stated, I have very difficult to drive 'phones.
At any rate I decided to start a poll just to see what folks think.

But they probably aren't SDXC. Probably SDHC, like the X3, so cards larger than 32GB will need re-formatting (there are other consequences too - reduced transfer speed for some cards, for example).

IMO, it is not a big deal but if you say it is bad, well it is bad then. I found these cons ''acceptable''. 2 micro card support is already great, so formatting and all is no biggie.

I do hope support for 64GB cards will be there. but at this point almost everything is speculation, so let's just wait for official confirmation or denial by James.

I didn't say it was bad... I just thought it may have been confusing that the question specified SDXC but was probably just asking whether there were two or not. I'm quite happy to have SDHC but people with less experience of computers may have some problems getting 64GB cards to work. I'm sure you have been following the X3 threads so you probably know exactly what I mean... From my point of view, I agree with you - I'm just happy to have two 8^).
