I found these headphones for $265 from chinese seller on ebay.
Is it safe to order them from China? Are they original? Why is the price lower?

I bought mine From e infinity on eBay for that price about 6 months ago. They are the real deal. I also bought my hd800's from them also. Registered them with sennheiser with no issues. The 712's they sell are the Austrian models also. If you want some pics. It's not a problem.

Hey guys, I ordered these from Adorama for $290 and they should be here in 3 days. Is that a good price or should I cancel and wait for the K7XX to drop again?

Speaking of which, are these the same thing as the K7XX or different/better? I see that it's made in Slovakia (used to be Austria) instead of China. Does the K712 have better materials/workmanship/build quality than the K7XX? I heard my friend's K7XX for a few hours and was impressed with its SQ (coming from AD900x and Fidelio X2) but not its build.

Lastly, for using the K712 with a laptop will the Schiit Fulla suffice? I need a cheap portable DAC/amp that ideally doesn't require external power.

Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't change a thing. K712 is a much better phone. The fulla on your laptop should do just fine. You can always upgrade later. Good choice

I will repeat my question: Can I order these headphones without any problems to USA? Shipping from China to USA is free and I'm planning to use polish courier to send them to Poland from there. I need to be 100% sure that there won't be any customs issues as I will be unable to handle them from where I live.

$290 is a good price for a new pair of K712. I don't think even Amazon has had it for that low. I can't comment on the value of K7XX since I don't own one.

I've been driving my K712 with a USB-powered desktop DAC/amp just fine. I think the more important factor to consider is the sound signature of Fulla (is it neutral, warm, etc.) and its pairing with the K712.

After 2 months I received my allegedly fixed AKG K712's only to find out that they still suffer from the dreaded bass rattle, and that I had to pay 60$ in duty fees since they made me send them from B.C. to California to get repaired.  I asked if I could send them to a Canadian repair center first, but the Canadian rep did not provide me with proper contact information and ignored me when I asked for clarification.

Got these new K712's yesterday and I'm amazed at how it makes my AD900x sound hollow, distant and unfocused, like being in a bathroom or listening through a tin can. It's less sibilant and more full-bodied/well-rounded compared to the treble cannon that is the AD900x. I'm also impressed by its technical dexterity in complex music, it's noticeably better than even the Fidelio X2 in this regard, which gives up after a certain point. On the K712 every instrument is distinct and nothing is over- or under-emphasized. Overall it sounds very balanced to my ears with a touch of warmth.
