Very nice! Did you know Mark had posted these pics to the DIY forum a few days ago? It looks very nice indeed, love the way you finished the case and that custom face is very nice.

Note the time on the watch. I can guarantee you that is "AM" knowing Mark.

If you like the CD3K as much as I think you do, the R10 may not be your cup of tea, as it sounds quite different from the CD3K, and is not just an upgraded one. IMO the quieter bass of the R10 compared to the CD3K makes them less engaging for some kinds of music. Now the L3000, who knows, I guess I will find out 6/19?

Yes Phil this is it, the "leather can".....as for portable, I'm not a kind of a portable guy for now, so I'm not too worried out that, but consider the clip on new AT. The woody is a piece of work and technology, looks promising, and is only around 150.00 directly from them take a look, and IMO if it is "portable" has to be "portable", small, stylish, I think this is the one I would get as I do not resist nothing inside my ear canal....
BTW I'm talking about the new Satriani CD, "Is there love in space???"....("The Extremist" is an old one) this is the only musician IMO that really touches me, and till now all his work more or less is superb (nothing is really bad) this new one has a very strong low and deep bass lines, is a fest with the CD3000...just try "Gnaaah" or "Up in Flames"....and let me know...

BTW Phil thanks for your kind words in the emails, that really touches me, it seems that we are on the same channel....

What do you mean bias adjusted for the CD3Ks? Is there a different bias for different cans?

I originally bought my PPA for the HD580s, so I'm wondering if now that I've got CD3Ks I should change the bias?

The Buffer will perform and sound great with the standard bias setting. This is true of any well executed output stage in both Loudspeaker as well as headphone amps. The standing Bias current should be increased slightly to keep the largest portion of the waveform out of the transition rejoin towards the opposite polarity often referred to as the crossover or transition reunion. This is where transistor nonlinearities manifest those self’s at the greatest

In the case of the Triad module the default configuration works very well with both low and low impedance headphones how ever one can get measurable differences with different bias settings vs headphones just as one could equip a vehicular with optimal equipment and have the tuning slightly the car for city highway and off or off road use.
