Don't like it, don't use it. No one is shoving it down your throat.

How about ditching the friggin proprietary cable when I want to transfer music to the 901? How about being able to stream music?

I would be THRILLED not to have to carry the cable alone.

Well I never used the cable to transfer music. The 901 don't have internal memory anyway so so always just load my music on SD cards via my computer's card reader. I m quite sure my usb3 card reader can write faster than the one inside my 901.

Streaming music is really convenient for a quick listen without having to load new purchase to my cards. Loving this with the AK240 and wish every player would support it.

Yeah, a lot of notebooks and so forth do not have a built in card reader. I have USB card reader stick (the multi kind) but its still a pain in the butt.

Streaming music and loading new tracks are both killer apps for WiFi.

NOTE: Spotify support would also be fantastic.

After updating your HM-901 to 1.085, does the version number in the menu of the HM-901 stay at 1.080? Or should it specifically state 1.085?

I recently updated mine but I can't get the version number to update.

As said on 240 thread:
I do not know if it is burn in or brain burn in but the AK240 is getting closer to the 901...I think RWAK will do the trick for me.

Probably mind burn-in.... There was a period of time when I actually thought AK240 is starting to sound better than the 901, until I actually charge it up and listen to it again... nope.. gap is still there LOL!

These days since I got the Hugo and with my AK240 strapped to it, I am actually listening MORE to the hm901!  I'm just too lazy to to unbundle the AK240 when I'm not carrying a bag.

Do you know if minibox really has a different kind of sound vs, balanced card. Do you think its worth getting the IEM card because I have higher end headphones and earphone?

I don't have the IEM card but my understanding is that it is totally silent and offers nice refinements suited for IEM's. The balanced card obviously offers plenty of power and to me, a well balanced sound. The Minibox is a powerful single ended card that again, is well balanced like the "balanced card", and to be honest, need to compare them more recently than I have to give you a further answer. Right now I have an infected ear so can not do the comparison right now.

Can someone explain to me why this unit has to reboot after the USB cable is connected? Even if you don't copy anything new to it. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I tried to connect the  HM-901 to my computers two times, both times it was a bit crazy

so I quietly put the usb cable back in the box and use a card reader ever since...
