No room for anyone to move anywhere on my train!
You have to be plugged in and turned on before you get on the train, no room to get things out of bags.
It's only music that makes it makes bearable!

Sounds like when I lived in China.

A new amp card "Elfidelity" just popped up on HiFiMAN Taobao store. This is the 1st runner-up of an amp card design contest organised by HFM some time ago.

Below is the description translated from Chinese:

The Elfidelity amp card is available in either SE (RMB 1,299) or balanced (RMB 1,799). The sound signature is neutral with smooth highs and fast and accurate lows. The balanced version offers a larger soundstage and more accurate instrument placement than the SE version.

The Elfidelity card measures very well but bass is on the light side.

Recommended headphone pairing: HD650, SR80, RE600 etc.

I won't translate word by word. Just a brief one.

These are two of the winning amp cards in the competition made by Elfidelity. One is unbalanced and one balanced.

The unbalanced is a competition of the discrete card which has been often talked about here. Overall it's more focused on vocals with smoother sound, not as powerful as the discrete card, but probably a better choice if you are into vocals.

The balanced card is a direct competition of the official balanced card from Hifiman. Again, it's not really better but in different flavor, it made the 901 sound more like 801 which might be good or bad depends on which type of sound you prefer. Seems overall the official one still has better dynamics but the new balanced card is easier on ears and better for long time listening due to its thicker and warmer sound.

You'd lose gain setting on either card 'cause they don't support HI/LO gain switch, just one setting, probably low gain only.

Do people really want a new card that makes a 901 sound like a 801? I certainly don't, and would it just be easier and cheaper to get an 802?
Will Head Direct have new cards ?

Given many users love the minibox amp coward, I'd say this new Minibox ES amp card is gonna have a lot followers when it comes to market.

Especially now owners will be able to roll op-amps with the ES version

Thanks pekingduck and fengwei. Where can I find info on this ES version? Sounds more interesting than Elfidelty to me...
