Hi guys!
I am looking for some high end SS amp for my LCD-3's. I only listen to heavy music like black/viking/doom metal so I am looking for something that is especially better for such music. I prefer dark sound signature. The source will be my Eximus DP1 DAC and I am planning to use balanced connection. Currently I am driving my LCD-3's form the built-in amp in my Eximus DP1 and I want something that will really make a difference. Currently I am considering the following amps:

RSA The Dark Star
HeadAmp GS-X
Bryston BHA-1
Rudistor RP030
Harmony Design Ear 909
SPL Phonitor
Luxman P-700u
Luxman P-1u
AMB Beta 22
Schiit Mjolnir

Any advice?

If you like dark... step one is to dump the Eximus.  After that it's hard to get darker than the B22.

Would add stay away from these for your stated goals...

RSA The Dark Star
Bryston BHA-1
Rudistor RP030
SPL Phonitor
Luxman P-1u
Schiit Mjolnir

What's wrong with Dark Star? Is it bad? And how about GS-X mk2?

DarkStar isn't dark.  I've got a whole other list of why I'd never touch one but 'not dark' is enough.

Dark sound certainly needs to come from the source. Get an amp that can strangle the little darlings without fingerprints and color your sound another way.

As the owner of an LCD3 and BHA-1, I can certainly say it is not for you if you want a dark sound. It might not be a popular choice on here nor is it as expensive as those in your list but give the Violectric V100/V200 a shot if you can.

What about GS-X mk2? Is it a good choice?
