I would like to know if some of you use other earpads than the stock pads with your 840's.
The stock pads have good quality,mine are almost 2,5 years old and are still fine,and comfort is decent.
The reason I'm asking is because I find the sound to be a bit heavy somewhere at the upperbass,and I have the feeling that the pads are a bit responsible for this. So,has anybody used other pads with the SHURE 840,and what changes in sound did you notice?
Some earpads that might fit are the following,from what I've read so far:
SRH 940 Velour pads
SRH 440 Pleather pads (I know that people change these with the 840 pads,but I'm wondering if these pads make the 840 sound a bit more neutral overall)
Brainwavz HM5 etc Pleather pads
Mad Dog pads/alpha pads maybe?
ATH M50 pads??
Or something else?
