Just got my brand new CD3K's 30 minutes ago, and the thread title says it all. So this is what soundstage is like?

I've never experienced this feeling of "space" with any of my headphones. I'm floored. Also, I don't find them bright at all (maybe my system has something to do with it). Very exciting and detailed cans. Wow, I think I'm in love! Off to listen a little more...

This is the first time that I was shocked at how much I liked a set of cans upon first listen. It was an instant love connection

. While I love my E5's, they didn't come close to leaving the same type of initial impression with me.

With your Emmeline XP-7, CD3K will surely sing high/low and WIDE. Congrats on your purchase and sorry for your wallet

Well that is what I said too, er, when I plugged my CD3Ks into my XR-2/TT.

To round out your system highly recommend trying vinyl source too. You already have the Meridian for a very fine digital source.

For about $2.5K can get a super vinly rig Scout+Cart+XR2.

Bet it will go well with the XP-7 too!

You're killing me, I don't even want to think about the expense of getting into vinyl.

Later on in the year, I plan to upgrade my amp to a Supra or SDS, which will hopefully be a great match with the CD3000's. Maybe upgrade my source sometime next year. However, for now, I'm very content. My only gripe with the CD3K is with the pleather. While it's the softest, nicest pleather I've seen on a headphone, it can get a little sweaty after extended use. Besides that minor complaint, I'm very satisfied. I just love how three dimensional these cans sound. Drums, and especially cymbals, sound amazing. It's surreal.
