USPS lost my only dynamic headphone amplifier in the mail, so the only thing I have to drive them out of is an iPod Classic. This should be interesting.

That sucks but at 150 ohms / 105db SPL the HD700 should get decently loud straight out of the iPod Classic. It'll be interesting to hear how it does.

When the headphones are sent to me, it would be great if someone could give me the tracking number for the shipment before it gets to my door. I live on the main road of town, and hundreds of people go by my patio every day. There is a real possibility that if these are left out on my front porch and I don't know about it, that they could be stolen.

It seems that you are the next person of HD700 tour. Did you reply email from Justin? He should send you email to confirm that you are still interested in the demo. I do not have the shipping address so far and will only ship to the location/person that Justin email me.

I haven't gotten a message from Justin yet.

Did you tell him you were ready to ship to the next person?

Thanks,

Okay, I went down to the post office on my bike (approx. 1 mile down a giant hill) and got the 'phones.

Imagine my surprise when the package turned out to be hueg like xbox and I had to walk my bike all the way back to my house in traffic. Lol.

I literally have nothing to test the HD700 with until tomorrow (when my Sansa Clip+ gets shipped to me), so I haven't bothered to take them out of the box yet.

(I am so silly sometimes.)

EDIT: I unboxed them and they look fantastic. Whoever repacked them the last time is going to make me look bad, because they look brand new in the box.

Also, just so everyone knows, these don't seem to have a quarter-inch to eighth-inch adapter in the box. I will put one in the box for whoever gets them next, and beyond.

To ship to the next person? I haven't gotten them yet.

oh wow lol ok my bad. We should probably start being more proactive and contact the people on the list and see if they still want the demo's once we get them. Justin is probably super swamped right now gearing up for the holidays so why don't we start checking with the people that are next on the list to make sure they want the demos and get address and shipping info and send it to Justin each time. I'm sure people shouldn't be keeping the demo's for weeks and weeks at a time. Its time to take charge people!! Of course if Justin is ok with this. But I just figured it would be a lot easier for him and we can get the Demo's moving a heck of a lot faster than they are now.

Just a suggestion

Thanks,

An email should be sent to Justin and the previous sender right after the phones were delivered and tested. So Justin can update the status of the demo and contact the next person. That is the rule and what people/I should follow. Another email was sent after I had them for three days saying that the HD700 were ready to next person. The package was shipped out next business day after I got the address from Justin and should be delivered within two days to the next person. The HD700 were kept in the same packing condition just like they came in.

If people are following the instructions inclosed inside the box, there shouldn't be any issues.

Also, people shouldn't be holding onto these any more than a week, IMO. Five days should be the expected number, and then these should be shipped USPS Priority Mail + insurance to the next person.

Agreed

This holding onto them for multiple weeks is getting kinda crazy.

dont think anyone has had them for more than a week.  i have been slow in updating the addresses, but first i have to email the person who is next on the list and

- make sure they still want to demo it
- make sure they will be around to receive it in the timeframe
- make sure the address has not changed (this happens a lot)

then, once i get a response, i can forward that to the shipper

The HD700 sounds pretty mediocre out of a Sansa Clip (not like I expected any different). You can tell there's a lot of unused potential being wasted.

However, I just remembered that my DAC doubles as a headphone amplifier. So, I plugged in the HD700 to my DAC, and it sounds pretty wonderful, especially for a $50 DAC (I'm almost as impressed with the DAC as I am with the HD700, honestly).
