Hello

I have just bought MM 550-X TRAVEL and since I wanted APT-X technology on my PC I also bought bluetooth donngle BTD-500 USB.

Today I received everything and while the headset works fine I was really dissapointed when I saw that the built-in mic doesn't work using aptx on this dongle. As soon as I want to use the mic, the donngle switched from APTX quality to standard and the quality gets really bad....

I have tried searching for solutions but haven't found anything so far so I wanted to ask you what do I have to do in order to get this headphone working with mic as welll using APTX?  Am I missing something here or did I buy the wrong donngle or what is the problem exactly?

Thanks a lot

I'm afraid this is behaviour by design. The APT-X codec is for streaming audio only, not for voice communications. The microphone audio goes via the headset protocol. It is therefore only logical that when the Headphone switches from APT-X to Headset mode, the audio stream "moves"along with it. It's like selecting the source switch on an amplifier. You cannot activate two sources simultaneously. Other brands show exactly the same behaviour.

So nothing you can do about that I'm afraid. On the other hand, the transition between the two goes smoothly, so I have learned to live with it ... :)
