Like the title reads, I'm looking for a headphone amp that can double as a pre-amp for a set of active studio monitors. It would be incredibly convenient if the device could either detect when headphones have been plugged in, or if I could manually switch between the RCA pre-amp output and the 3.5mm headphone output. Devices that I have been eyeing, but unfortunately don't have this feature, are the Little Dot MK III/IV/IVSE, the Schiit LYR, and the Darkvoice 336SE. I'm open to both solid state and tube options. I have right around $450 to spend, but I'd prefer to keep the price between $250 and $350.
