Would you please list what are the differences between the two tube options; sound, and other-wise ?

I liked the look of the 1/4" only output much better :/
Sure I wouldn't think of it once the music starts.

Hi All,

Thank you for your feedback so far.

The USB chip is a C-Media 6631 and the DAC chip is a TI PCM5102.

Power consumption is 25W max. Battery operation is not feasible in this version and maybe the next, maybe. Yes, we plan on releasing an amp-only version in the future.

Here is a diagram to illustrate the features of this amp.

I have a question about using the RCA outputs to go to a speaker amplifier. When using the RCA outputs, does it become a DAC only in that case and bypass the tubes? Is there a way to use it as a DAC and a tube preamp with a line-out signal when running to a speaker amplifier?

(Pardon my ignorance. The answer is probably on the website, but I'm confused.)

The diagram above suggests that the DAC signal bypasses the tube circuit.

....

Also ...... extrapolated from here:

http://www.wooaudio.com/products/wa7fireflies.html

"The RCA connector can be used either as an input or a D-A output".

In other words, (see photos) there is one set of RCA jacks -- they function for either input or output (not both functions at the same time). Just something I noticed ...

ahhhh excellent choice in DAC and USB chip
asus use that exact USB chip in their high end motherboards.

the PCM5102 is the same as the one used in the rPAC, which i've listened to before(really good DAC only, bad headphone amp), but what i liked about the rPAC is its ability to handle gaming applications, no matter how many files you pumped through it, it'll play every file clearly, no stutters.

I really want one even though I have absolutely no use for one right now.

I'm sure you could put one in the bathroom for those tube lit bathtub headphone parties... warm orange glow, Taylor Swift in your ear...
