I have a chance to buy a package of audio gear that includes a pair of cans I really want but only comes with the package.  The amplifier/DAC combo is the Singlepower Audio Duet-SSD balanced with stepped attenuator volume and built-in 24/96KHz DAC (unknown what the DAC is or by whom) and a pair of Moon Audio modified BALANCED Bayerdynamics T1's with what appears to be Cardas cabling and Nuetrik XLR plugs in mint condition with low-hours for $900.  Truth is, the modified T1's are the real reason I am entertaining this combo but I would like to find out if ANYONE knows about this Singlepower Audio amplifier/DAC combo?  It also acts as a pre-amp and has AES/Optical/Coaxial DAC input (perfect as I have a digital transport with AES out)?

The amplifier/DAC combo seems very poorly constructed and the aluminum housing flexes a lot and required two separate power supplies, one for the DAC and one for the amplifier/preamplifier.  It is a basic DIY housing with a CNC machined face that says SINGLEPOWER AUDIO DUET - SSD and uses what appears to be cheap R/S selector and volume knobs.  I have NOT popped the cover to look as in reality the fellow wants $600 for the Bayer T1's and $300 for the Singlepower amp/DAC.  He stated he paid $5k for the combo.  I will post a picture for reference - this is a picture of the actual unit.

Anyone know anything about this set-up?  I really like the T1's but not at $900 even with the $600 Moon Audio balanced rewire of the cans.

Thoughts?  I know the deal with Singlepower Audio but I am more specifically looking for more information on THIS specific model of SPA amplifier with DAC.  Anyone?  What DAC is used, when was it made and what op amps and FETS or JFETS were used?  Any good for $300?

Thank you in advance,

Darren
